Carlyn folded her ears back, watching the ground and nothing else as she walked beside him. She tried to ignore how much attention she got, but she was slowly inching closer and closer to Cress.

Cress glanced at the wolves near the front of a huge den.
He nodded to the tall old male. "That's my dead," he said.

Carlyn nodded slowly.
"I...I..dunno what to say.."

"Then let me do the talking," Cress smiled down at her.

Carlyn nodded and followed beside Cress, unsure of what to do next.

"Dad," Cress called as the approached the alpha, who looked over.
"Heya son-" the alpha paused. "...Who's..your friend.?"

Carlyn flicked her ear and immediately looked down at her paws, pressing close against Cress.

"Her name's Carlyn," Cress introduced her.
"Hmm," the alpha chimed. "She...doesn't look familiar."

Carlyn glanced up at the alpha and flicked her tail.
"I..I'm not from these parts.." she looked around at all the other wolves.

"Mhh..i see." he stated.
"Dad..." Cress said, looking up at his father. "I want her to be part of our pack."

Carlyn folded her ears back, looking up at Cress' father. She nodded slowly.

"Oh really..?" the alpha looked skeptically down at Carlyn.
"Dad," Cress called to him again, looking directly up at him. "..I love her.."

Carlyn smiled and licked Cress' nose, standing up a bit more strait.

The alpha held a steady gaze at the two for a moment. And then he smiled.
"You'll be in charge of showing her around, Cress." he noted.
Cress smiled and nodded. "of course!"

Carlyn wagged her tail, smiling up at Cress and his father.
