I think it was mainly because of Pixars computer animation not popular at the time that attracted people. In some ways I do feel like Toy Story "stole" potential profits from Balto.

It wasn't stolen, it's just the fact that a 3D movie was a new thing at the time.

You got it backwards. Balto came out on Dec. 21st and Toy Story came on on Nov. 22nd.

I guess that would explain the jump in profits for Toy Story. I was gonna say, if it were the other way around, Balto wouldve had plenty of time to make moola at the box office.

Yes I do, thanks for asking. I would literally be first in line to buy tickets for the midnight premiere. Either that or pre-order them.

I wish they would make a Balto 4. Either theatrical or home video; I would be chomping at the bit to see it.

I wish they would bring back Steele and have him redeem himself (like in my fanfic, and I know they could get Jim Cummings to reprise his role), or even have Balto go on a road trip like the real Balto (though that may not fit well with the past two films).

Sadly, I feel that Universal just does not see the money in it. I think a Balto 4 is highly improbable, though in this case I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

I'm happy to see that there is a lot of optimism about Balto 4 . If there was a Balto 4 coming out I would have to joint the first-in-line group too!

It'd probably be one of those things where theaters run out of parking spaces and people park on grass.

Guys, the already exsisting sequels where low budget productions, Universal already put as less of money as possible into them. And those sequels didn´t sell well either. To be blunt, they where a flop. So do you really think they would make another waste of money?

If you really want a Balto 4 then why don´t you use the comic idea, and work on it, together? Maybe you guys can even get something decent done? Who knows? That sounds more likely possible than an official movie to me.
