"Well if dark magic did this to you, perhaps someone with light magic can fix it," said Sally. "Or at least someone who knows enough about it."
"I might know someone," said Amy. "There was a nice human who helpped heal me when I got bit by a snake, he was a native American and new a lot about nature and magic."
Tracy blinked. "You mean a shaman?"

"That is exactly the type of person that we need," Taran said, a smile on his face at this sign of hope at returning to his natural form.
"Do you think you could take us to him?" Sadie asked the pup kindly, hoping that the tiny wolf knew where the Shaman was.

"I think I know where he was," said Amy. "But I had a bad fever at the time, so I'm not completely sure...but it wouldn't hurt to try, right?"
"Now wait," said Sally. "We stayed in this cave because out there, we're outcasts. Are you just going to use us to get back to normal and then leave us to rot?" she asked, clearly her outcast life had left her bitter.

"Of course not," Sadie said quickly but sincerely.
Trey hesitated a moment before nodding his head in agreement with Sadie.

Tracy nodded. But she wasn't entirely sure. "...What can we do to repay you for helpping us? There has to be something."
Sally looked to the rest of the outcast. "Let us talk for a second," she said, leading them nearby. "What do you think?"

"I think we should help them," Mutt said, his puppy generosity coming through.
"I'm no quite sure I trust them yet," Captian replied, the opposite to the young dog's words.

"But if we don't help them, won't we be just like the meanies that shunned us?" asked Amy, youthful innocents allowing her to see it without bitterness, like Mutt.
Sally cringed. Ammy had a very good point, wouldn't it make them hypocrats to do that?

"I suppose the two young ones do have a point," Captain said reluctantly.

Sally nodded. "And who knows, maybe they're telling the truth," she said. "Alright, let's help them, but be cautious."
Amy nodded. "And maybe they'll really help us..."

"I'm sure they will if we help them," Mutt said.
Taran didn't take his eyes off the group as they talked. "I wonder if they will actually help us," he thought aloud.

"But helpping them out would be the right thing to do," said Amy. "We should always try to do the right thing," she stated.
Sally nodded, petting Amy's head. "You're right," she said. "Alright, let's go talk to them."

"Alright," Captain said, still a bit reluctant.

Sally nodded, turning back to the group. "Alright, we'll help you," she said. "But you'd better be nice to us, ok?" she asked, then lifted her tail warningly. "If you hurt anyone of our group, I'll skunk you, got it?"

"Yes, ma'am," Trey said with a nod of his head.
"Thank you," Sadie said to the group. "We're all really glad you decided to help us out."

Martha nodded. "We'll be careful and thank you."
Amy looked up at the human-turned-dogs. "Did it hurt?" she asked curiously.
Tracy blinked, looking down at her. "Did what hurt?"
"When the mean man turned you into dogs, did it hurt?" asked Amy.
