Tai looked at her siblings, watching him. Never the one to get into trouble, she was surprisingly the first to try and get closer. "He really wants Momma..."

Jenna nuzzled Katie lightly. "Don't worry, we'll find them..." When it's time...

Sakak came out in front of Kodi. "Why hello, dear boy. I hope your luck is getting better."

Cachen nodded. "What do we do?"

Katie nodded, nuzzling in return. "I hope so. I just don't want them getting into trouble."

"He doesn't look too worse for wear." Belladonna chuckled, coming beside Sakak.

Kodi stopped in his tracks at the cats appearance. He sighed. "I'm hoping what I'm trying to do is going to make a difference."

"He won't get the chance. We're bringing Momma and Papa back together." Tai said indefinitely.

"They'll probably get into trouble, but probably not serious trouble," said Jenna, looking around. "I'm sure Aniu will watch over them."

"You know these cats?" asked Dusty.

"But what if he's like that nasty Steele grandpa told us about?" asked Lena, this predating any actual contact with Steele.

"That's what I always hope for..." Katie said, looking up a moment.

"Unfortunately." Kodi said to Dusty, ears going back. "I'm doing what I have to, and setting things right. So I don't have much time to talk to you."

Tai gulped. "Well... Then we'll have to do something about it, won't we?"

Jenna nuzzled her daughter-in-law. "I'm sure it'll be ok," she said, leading the way. "Who was that wolf with you again?"

"Good, good," said Sakak, a smirk on his face. "But I simply must ask, is there any way we can be of assistence? After all, if anyone knows how to deal with bad luck, it's a black cat."

"Bad luck?" asked Dusty, though she knew what they meant, Kodi didn't know she knew.

"Well we're not doing anything except hiding... Should we spy?" asked Lena cautiously.

Balto nodded to the question as he followed. "Yeah, it seemed like you knew him."

"Oh, yea." Katie said with a chuckle. "That's Shenkin. He was my best friend when we were pups- until he developed a huge crush on me. Then it got odd." she said with a roll of her eyes. "It was nice to catch up though."

"Right now, I just need to find a friend." Kodi said, glancing to Dusty's confused question. "Yea."

"A friend?" Belladonna asked, tilting her head slightly. "Well, perhaps we've seen him, dear?" she asked Sakak.

Kai nodded. "I'm going to. I don't wanna leave this guy alone."

Jenna blinked. "Crush?"

"Yes, as you can assume, a pair of wondering felines are certain to see plenty of dogs hanging around, so perhaps we've seen the one you are seeking," stated Saka.

Katie chuckled. "Yeah... When I turned one, he started to notice that apparently, I'm pretty." she smirked a moment. "I kept telling him I had no interest romantically, and he made his affection so obvious... That my father made him leave. I'm surprised he's back in the forest."

"It couldn't hurt I suppose." Kodi said with a sigh. "He's a big guy, black and white... His fang hangs out of his mouth?"

Kai nodded, and lead the way, crawling against the ground. "C'mon."

Jenna gave Balto a concerned look, then looked back to Katie. "Is he still... interested?"

"Oh, he's right over there, sleeping on a bunch of logs," said Sakak, pointing over his shoulder.

Shenkin snarled. "And what's worse, this whole mess might give that rotten, no good mutt a chance to win her back!" he yelled, slashing a tree fiercely with his claw. He then gave an almost insane smirk. "We'll see about that," he said, heading off towards town.

OOC: Actually, what I have in mind would work better sung to Katie herself, or possibly to Kodi, but Katie would work better. Think we could make that work? It'd need to be only her and, unknown to everyone else, the cubs, who hear. And Shenkin needs to know they both have feelings for one another as well.

She looked up at the flower tucked behind her ear. "I think so, to be honest." she laughed.

Balto looked confused at the laugh. "Then why are you laughing?" he asked curiously.

"Because it'll never happen. I don't see him that way. He's like Fang is to me."

Kodi looked back to the pile of logs, and nodded. "Alright." he said and turned, glancing back to the pair.

Jenna nodded. "... Let's just hope he takes it well... Does he know about you and Kodi?"

Katie nodded. "Yes. And he knows about the pups too." she said with another nod.

Kodi nodded, abd took a quick pace to the log pile.

"Oh yeah... He's not getting away." Tai said as she continued to follow.

Jenna nodded, though she had a nasty feeling something bad was going to happen. "Alright, here we are," she said, once they'd gotten into the forest. "Let's see if we can find the pups."

Cachen snuck along. "But it looks like he's heading for town, how are we supposed to follow him there?"

Katie nodded, forgetting all about Shenkin as she began to sniff about for her pups.

Balto would stay close to Jenna. "Are you having that bad feeling, too?" he whispered.

Kodi saw and swallowed, walking forward. "Fang?" he called out, a few steps away from his-hopefully still- friend.
