Shay could hear Hera's breathing slow, turning into a steady rhythm. Shay, however, found it hard to fall asleep, a rare occurence for her. She looked upwards, staring past the slender boughs of the willow, at the stars twinkling overhead. At some point, her body relaxed, and she fell asleep.

Hera woke up to light streaming through the pale green leaves of the willow. She yawned and stretched for a moment, before opening her wings and circling around the tree for a bit of exercise, before returning to her perch.

Shay woke up upon hearing Hera moving, her wingtips making the leaves rustle. "Hera?" she muttered groggily, eyes heavy with sleep. Other than her exhausion, one o fthethings she noticed first was the pain in her leg. Perfect, she thought bitterly.

Shay sat up, hiding her grimace. "Gimme a minute to stretch," she said, using the trunk for support as she stood up. Leaning heavily against the surprisingly smooth bark, she eventually straightened up, taking a few steps. She winced, but the knotted muscles eventually relaxed some, and the pain lessened. "Alright, we can go now," she said.

Shay was unable to jump or run to get a good start, and had to make do with flapping furiously, somehow managing a small hop. She eventually got in the air, and sighed in relief. The cool air felt good on her leg, and now that her weight as off of it, it didn't hurt nearly as bad as before.
