Jet shook his head. "I don't know... I...."

Suddenly there was a gunshot resounding through the forest.

Jet picked up his ears immediately. "Oh no... Oh no, oh no, oh no! RUN!" he yelled.

"Why?" Kristen asked as she began to follow him.

Ooc: Hey sorry to interrupt here...

My pet peeve of anything is to have humans portrayed as evil.. So I don't want evil humans hunting wolves when... Humans aren't that evil ya know... We can make these humans nice? And they are just hunting like.. deer or something.. not wolves or something like that....

You get what I mean? You can keep what you have up there... if that is fine.

OOC: Alright, but I was trying to add some action to the RP. Without 'mean' hunters, there's really no action. And in the real world thousands are killed for no reason... so it's pretty real based to me... but whatever you say

Ooc: Well there are good and bad humans in the world.. Hmm, maybe this one can be some bad humans who hate wolves, and to add more action, some wolf lovers jump in... IDK.

I don't know, Just a few bad hunters doesn't mean you are portraying all humans are evil in fact, the main characters are humans!

I dunno, I get this way on lots of stuff. lol

OOC: Yeah that's what I mean. Not all humans are bad, just a select few
So we'll do it like that. (bad hunters shoot, yada yada, then wolf lovers step in)

Jet ran as fast as his legs could carry him, but the rest of the group seemed to be falling behind. "C'mon guys! C'mon! Hurry up! Please!" he screamed in terror. His last experience with hunters, when he was a few month old pup, left scars on his mind. He'd never forget how horrible they were. By now, being older, he was terrified of them. Only a miracle could get him to step up and fight them. A miracle, or one of his friends getting hurt...

John ran with them.

I can't be killed! Whoever is shooting will not know I am human! He thought, while running faster than he ever did when he was human.

James ran behind them as well.

"Nooo! We cannot be killed now! There isn't any other way out! We are trapped. They are going to kill us! My parents won't like me to be dead! NOOOOO" John howled.

The sounds were coming nearer. But suddenly, they stopped.

"What happened? The shots suddenly stopped." James said, confused.

Jet's face turned to an even more horrified expression. He had heard that pattern before. "They're reloading! There's no hope for us now, there's.... there's...." he began to scratch hopelessly at the wall. When he turned back, his eyes grew wide. About five humans dressed in black and camo clothes were walking towards them, grins on their faces and guns in their hands.

One of them grinned evily and shot at Kristen. Caught off guard, Kristen yelped as the bullet hit her chest, dangerously close to her heart. She fell to the ground, and began breathing heavily.

Jet's eyes narrowed. He didn't like that the bullet had hit his friends. "Now it's personal..." he growled. Suddenly, his whole outlook on the situation morphed. Instead of being scared like a frightened kitten, he was angry and ready to risk his life for his friends. He lunged at the hunters, barking and snarling to distract them.

"NOOO!" John said, looking at the injured Kristen.

Right when he said that, 2 other humans walked up, and they started to talk to these hunters. John understood english, so he heard all of what they said. The two new humans were scolding the hunters. They were quiet, but it sounded like the two humans that just showed up were scolding them about not to kill wolves.

"Don't die on me! PLEASE DON'T!" John howled.

Jet backed up as soon as the new humans showed up. He couldn't tell what they were saying, but he thought they were there to shoot too. He still snarled at the hunters. He pounced on one, ignoring the two new humans. He fought at the hunter, trying to seperate him from his gun. But it ended badly. The hunter shot up while he had the chance, and the bullet grazed Jet from his chest up to his snout. He was bleeding all over. He limped away, whimpering. Everything hurt him now. Blood was dripping everywhere. He collapsed before getting back to the others, although still wide awake bearing pain.

Soon, the new humans were yelling even louder at the hunters.

Kristen opened her eyes slightly to look up at John. "I'll... try..." she said, gasping.

Kristen coughed, but it wasn't a normal cough... This time, blood spewed out. She moaned and tried to get up, but it was no use. With the bullet so close to her heart, her legs were getting weak.

Jet soon recovered a bit from his injury. He was finally able to pull himself up after a few minutes, and shook on his legs. He was still losing a lot of blood, but at least he could move. He walked carefully towards James, and stood beside him. "I tried to protect.. you guys," he said.

Kristen's vision was beginning to get fuzzy, but her ears seemed to be working fine (for the moment). She could hear a bit of the conversation between the humans.

"But ma'am, this is what we do for a livin'!" one said, apparently one of the hunters.
"We don't care!" one of the two new humans shouted. By the sound, she was female, the human was male.
"Geez, you environment freaks got nothin' better to do huh?" the first hunter said.
"This is what we do!" the male of the two humans said.
"These wolves are practically dead already! Why stop us from shooting them now? Look at 'em!" another hunter said.

Then all the humans, hunters and the two new ones, turned and stared at the blood surrounding the wolves.
