Jamie heard her boyfriend and ran to Helga and him, " Helga! You shouldn't be standing right now." She walked over to Helga and slowly layed her body down on her until they were on the ground, ( Like balto) XD anyways, "Mike, I think you should go see how long it is. I was barely at the dead line when you howled for me." She said, " I'll stay behind with Helga." She said.

"Helga shifted a tiny bit.
"I knew this before we even set out eyes on this Abyss. There is no animal life here. Also, Sniff the ground and tell me you don't smell something unusual in the dirt."
((Helga is implying that she smells a rich concentration of lead in the soil))

"I'd better check out this deadline then," Mike said hurriedly, "We can not exist in a place with no food and where the water is slowely poisoning us."
Helga looked Jamie in the eyes.
"I understand that I need rest, but I do not want to stay here longer than possible. Does the cliff look possible to climb?"

She helped her up and they walked through the abyss/canyon, and they found him she ran up to him and nuzzled him saying, " Hey, I will lead now. Thanks." She said and took charge in leading them out of the abyss/canyon and said, " Well, that was a journey." She laughed.

"Y'know, last week I was off on my own, doing the same thing I've been doin' for the past who knows how long. I'm not sad to leave it all behind, and though we've been through a lot, I know that we will always stay close friends."
Helga was beside him.
"You must remember that there is still a long way to go. We will have quite a story to tell if we do ever make it to our destination."

She agreed, " I agree Helga." She said and kept walking, " We are half way there. We have entered the woods, and we need to find a place for the night quickly. The sun is going down." She said and got up and walked away with her friends behind her and Mike by her side.

Mike discovered a small nook created by a fallen tree.
"This place oughta keep us safe for the night, don't you think?"
Helga didn't argue, she crawled in, found a spot in the corner and collapsed in exhaustion.
Mike turned to Jamie and nuzzled her.
"Thank you for leading us out of there. I was so afraid of that place."

Mike was a little embarrased. He tried to explain the best he could.
"Jamie, I would be honored to take you as my mate, but would you mind if we made it to our destination before that."
He then lowered his voice almost to a whisper.
"I love you so much Jamie. Please don't take this the wrong way. I just don't feel like it's the right place to be discussing this. What with Helga sick and all."
He nuzzled her again, this time for an extended time.
"You think...maybe we could find some food around here?"
