Tike wasn't going to let them in the lead that easily! He decided not to wake up Cocoa and left.
After a while, Cocoa woke up to see Tike and most of the dogs gone. "Where in the world..." She then knew that he left to go in the lead. "... Well then! He could've woke me up too!" She was furious. She then began to run with the dogs that just began to leave.

Scout woke up and noticed that almost all of the dogs had gone. She shook herself awake and left the cave, running to catch up with the others who had already started the race.

"Oh it's fine. I mean we're all trying to win the race." Scout replied. "How are any of us going to do that if we wait around for everyone to catch up?"

Lions hrugged. "I guess we won't but if we got too far without you, it could have been dangerous."

"Yeah, I guess." Scout replied. "Do you think the humans did something to the race?" She asked.

"I don't know. I was wondering if they were cruel enough to tamper with the race so that a certain dog wins or something." Scout replied.

Cocoa eventually caught sight of Tike. He was walking and catching his breath. "Where were you!?" she yelled in anger.
"I was... umm..."
"EXACTLY! YOU LEFT WITHOUT ME SO YOU COULD WIN!" She bared her teeth.
"I.. I'm sorry... I didn't mean to.... I wanted to let you rest... I didn't want to disturb you... I'm sorry." He looked sad and ashamed now.
Cocoa understood and felt bad for yelling at him. "No, I'm the one that's sorry." She continued. "I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I guess sometimes... I can't hold back my anger." She tried to comfort him. "You wonna walk together?" She asked with a smile.
"Sure."
