"Fine," Mist said, slightly annoyed. She walked over to Alex. She looked down at him. "I'm here to hear an apology."
Alex sat up. "I'm sorry, m' lady, but that's not what I need to say."
"If you want to stay on my good side, it better be," she nearly growled.
"Why do you get so angry so easily?" he asked her calmly.
Mist rolled her eyes. "It's because I'm annoyed because you want leave me alone!"
"I only came out here to warn you about Jacob!" Alex yelled back. "But if you really want me gone, I can go tell him exactly where you are and where you're going!"
Mist took a quick breath. "You wouldn't," she said in a quiet growl.
Alex gave her his sly smile, the smile he saved just for her. "Try me."

"I would be rid of one annoyance in my life," Alex said.
Mist growled. She glared at Alex. There was a short silence as their tempers calmed down. "Your more talk than action, you know that?"
Alex puffed out his chest. "I have an image to kept."
Mist smile at Alex for the first time in along time. Maybe the old Alex was still there. Somewhere.

"So, why are you here now?" Mist asked. "I already know about Jacob."
"I wanna help you get away, Besides, I can't ga back now. My dad would have my head," Alex added.
"Oh. I forgot about that." Mist looked back at the rest of the group. She sighed as she turned back to Alex. "I guess I could use your help."
Alex smiled and wagged his tail. "Really? You mean it?"
"Of course," Mist said, turning to walk back to the rest of the 'pack.'
"Just on more thing." Alex walked up so they were side by side. "I'm sorry."
Mist smiled at him. "Don't worry about it."

Luke looked at Alex when he apologized. "He means it." he said, then pinned his ears. "Sorry for breaking you toe and kicking you in...well you know." he said, now feeling very guilty. "Momma, don't forget me!" he said, padding after his mom. He stopped and went back to Alex. He grabbed his broken toe and put it back in place with a load pop, it would hurt but it would heal better now. "There now it will heal right." he said and dashed after Mist.
