I still don't get how WQ is better than WoC. I mean, the animation in WQ wasn't all too good. Balto's eyes are White in WQ, and his eyes are back to yellow in WoC. Plus, Jenna's neck was too long in WQ. Also, the ending in WQ made me sad. It means that Aleu would never be seen again by her family. I don't understand why in WQ, the hunter was left there hanging and undeveloped. What happened to him next? What did he do later? Ignoring Stella, I think WoC us better than WQ.

Yes, there should be a both option here. Why didn't the topic creator think of that? Oh well. Ignoring Stella, Balto 3 is epic to me. Balto 2 is not bad, but there are more flaws in it than Balto 3.

It all comes down to what the individual thinks. For me, I also believe the WoC was better than WQ, but I can see why some people say WQ is better. One reason I see a lot is because WoC doesn't really focus on heritage like the other two movies did. That's one advantage WQ has over WoC, but it's not enough to give the edge to WQ in my book. In discussions like this, you should always be open to both sides, not just remain biased to your opinion.

Plus, I've only seen it once, so I don't remember much about it.

Like I said, it all comes down to what the individual thinks and prefers. Not everyone is going to have the same outlook as you. And not remembering much about the movie is probably why you don't understand why some people prefer WQ. I'll bet once you do watch it again, you'll have a better idea of why some people do prefer WQ.

If you don't remember it then you can't really have a credible opinion can you? Wolf Quest is superior for me because it has a better-written storyline, increased character transition and development of Balto after the first film (as in we get to see how he handles a different situation and he changes as a character in this film), a greater (not necessarily better) personality in Aleu than in Kodi, and a greater cinematic feel and a better musical score (not songs, score). Wings of Change is basically the first Balto film rewritten, it has a lackluster story and even though there's a pilot dying deep in the wilderness there's no sense of peril, consequence, or a stress for time in the film. It's more like an episode for a television show than a movie in its own right.

Not sure if I replied to this yet but I choose WQ despite the musical numbers in it. It had a heartwarming ending alike the first movie that just wows you.

There are numerous differences and an entirely different plot. B. "Lackluster"? Definitely in your opinion. There is certainly a much hokier storyline in Wolf Quest than in Wings of Change. How? - Nava having some sort of strange magical powers;
- Jenna being utterly useless and helpless;
- The worst art and animation of the three;
- An inept villain (Niju, who struts about blustering and posturing, but is afraid to actually act on his blustering when he has to throw his cards on the table...and instead, goes running off like a scared little child);
- Some very bad acting by the otherwise excellent Charles Fleischer in portraying Boris, and by Kevin Schon in portraying Muk and Luk (neither of which got the proper ethnic portrayals and accents in this first attempt...which only improved A LITTLE by the next sequel)
- That blasted terrier in the early part of the movie who announces that Jenna's had her puppies. That thing needs to be thrown right into the Bering Sea.
It is easily THE most annoying and pointless character of the entire trilogy! The only things I actually LIKED about Wolf Quest were: a) the Native Alaskan chant during the "turning of the seasons" scene between the whelping box scene and the scene where Muk, Luk and Aleu are playing together; b) Aniu, her visitation of Balto in his dreams, and her various incarnations (and the other actors who played them); Maurice La Marche's portrayal of Balto (which I think was far superior to Kevin Bacon's) and Monnae Michaell's portrayal of Aniu, which was beautifully done. (And I'll give a few kudos to the actors who portrayed Sumac, Yak and Nuk...those three characters were mildly amusing...one of the actors, Joe Alaskey, is an accomplished comedian and voice impressionist). Beyond that? Wolf Quest was a complete yawn fest.

They definitely experimented with a lot of new territory in WQ, and while they may have failed, I like what they did in itself, not the way it ended up.

I like WQ for its potential.
Say a rapper decided to try to make a metal album and his voice fit the style very well, but it just didn't work out as well as it could have. Would you diss the rapper for making a bad metal album even though he had potential in metal, or would you look forward to more metal?
Experimentation isn't all bad; it's just that WQ got the wrong end of it, and that's why people seem to dislike it so much.
