Kat shreiked as a sickening boom went off behind her. Flames licked at the back of her neck, she had cut her forehead and blood spilled into her eyes. She couldn't see. Kat fel herself be pulled out of the car, the familiar scent of smoke and spearmint cloaking her. Kat relaxed slowly, but then realized the searing hot pain in her shoulderblade. Sh whimpered and clutched her hand on her back. Kat looked up blindly to see Ian.
"W-We need a d-doctor..." Kat studdered.

"we need to get to England." Ian countered, waving down a car and shooing the driver, before pulling him out and hopping in. He strapped Kat in an held the man's shirt to the back or her head, and his undershirt to her shoulder.

Once in the car Kat tried to collect herself again. The pain was bright a vivid now, like fire was being raked down her left shoulder-blade. Blood pumped from her back and she felt her head swim. She felt as if her head might explode if she were too move it. Kat rolled her shoulders back, but winced at the sharp pain that came with it. She smoothed her still wet hair down and heaved for breath. Black dots swirled about her vision from sheer lack of blood, threatening to send her into a black out. Kat tried to swallow, but failed, her tongue feeling like a sack of dry bricks.
"How long till' we get there?" Kat asked, keeping her voice as cool as she could manage. She eyed Ian, he was pale and loosing blood, fast. It hit her that he may not make it out of this alive. Kat winced at the thought then realized that she herself may not make it out alive. She felt her head get lighter and lighter, each breath getting harder. Each compresion of her chest felt heavier and heavier.

"We're here." Ian said stiffly, he'd sped the entire way making the trip abnormally short. He got out of the car and pulled Kat out as well, walking abruptly into the house. Arthur yanked his head up from his book, green eyes showing worry for, not Kat, but Ian.
"Who the he** did you kill this time?" Arthur snapped, grabbing Kat and immediately beginning to bandage her up. Alfred came strolling in, and his eyes widened at the sight of all the blood. Ian frowned, "No one. Just a nobody." He replied casually.
"You'll tell me later."

Kat fallowed in numbly, her heart racing, her head throbbing. She was going into shock, it'd happened to Kat once before, immediately after her parents were shot to death. When she was 14, she'd almost died herself; she almost had a heart attack. Kat focused on calming herself, she was safe. Yes, she was safe. Kat took gulps of air in and shook frantically. The pure terror was earlier today sinking in. But it didn't feel as if just hours ago she'd been swimming in the lake, it seemed like it had been a life time away. So far away. Kat tried to keep herself from shaking too hard, she focused on her breathing. Counting backwards from one hundred. She wasn't paying attention to the specifics of the conversation Ian and Arthur were having. In all honesty she was scared enough as it was. Kat tried to shy away from Arthurs touch, but she couldn't even think of running anymore. Her mind worked a mile a minuet, replaying every gruesome detail. The sickening sight of all the dead bodies on the ground...All of the blood...Kat had never had a problem with blood, but she did now. A hard lump formed in her throat, it was the only thing keeping her from throwing up. Her eyes located Alfred and she winced through her uncontrollable shaking. She averted her eyes to the tile, she couldn't look at him. She didn't need anymore pain. The blood that soaked her face was wet and slippery and smelt metallic and salty. Kat licked her bloody lips and recoiled at the rusty taste. Her eyes wondered to Alfred's again, and for a moment they locked. She flinched away again but didn't say a word. She couldn't force herself to speak. It wasn't like her to be so quiet.

Riley was out, shopping perhaps, unaware of what was going on back at the house.

Arthur, feeling her shake under his hands, sighed.
"Come on Kat," He said quietly, trying not to scre her anymore. He led he into the bathroom and took off her shirt, she wore a tank top underneath, and set her in the bathtub.
"I'm going to clean you up Riley, okay? No one will get you here." Arthur assured her, spraying warm water over her back.

Kat felt herself being lead into a bath tub, and then steamy water began being poured over her wound. She still shivered, and faltered that the sting that hot water brought to her wound, but she felt oddly better. Kat looked numbly ahead. All the blood. All the death. She kept her hands smashed together, in thought and in pain. She still didn’t speak, she couldn’t form a word.

Once cleaned up, and fully bandaged, Arthur picked Kat up - seein she probably couldnt walk, and set her down on the couch. Alfred had helped Ian, so lay on the couch, Kat on his legs.
"Alright Ian, what have you gotten into now?" he demanded.

Kat felt the warmth of Ian under her, but she didn’t care. She continued to shiver frantically, that event reminded her too much of when he parents were killed. For the first time in her life, Kat didn’t want any one. She didn’t want to curl into someone’s arms and feel their kiss on her forehead. She didn’t want to feel their hands trace down her spine or touch her cheek. All Kat wanted, was to be alone.

Ian shrugged. "Just doing my job Arthur." He answered, earning a hard glare from both Alfred and Arthur.
"You could have gotten Kat killed! Look! She's, like, petrified dude!" Alfred spoke up angrily, his voice making Arthur flinch slightly.
"You should have quit that job long ago when you were assigned to kill me!" Arthur snapped, looking over at the door to see Riley standing there with a shocked expression.

Kat shivered at the anger in Alfred’s voice. At this point she just recognized voices, not words; she could care less for the words spoken.

Riley entered the house at the complete wrong time. “You should have quit the job when you were assigned to kill me” Arthur had said, and she dropped her grocery bags. Riley looked to see and very broken looking Kat and a bloody Ian sitting on her couch. No those two again! Riley started picking up the groceries and walked in the house cautiously.
“Hey” She said meekly.

Arthur didnt smile, he just sighed, casting another glare at his older brother.
"Go get in the basement. I don't want..to see you." Arthur huffed, and Ian nodded, picking Kat up and walking to the basement knowone but him and Arthur knew they had. Arthur turned to Riley, and smiled weakly.
"Hello Love." He greeted his wife.

Kat felt herself being picked up, she hadn’t cried, not one tear. She clutched Ian’s shirt tightly, though deep in her gut, she wanted Alfred. Kat felt her mind blur and reality bend; she didn’t realize how tired she was. But Kat couldn’t fall asleep even if she’d wanted to. What if they’d fallowed her and Ian? What if they killed Ian while she slept? What if they killed her? Kat shivered a little harder in Ian’s arms and made a small noise of fear in the back of her throat.

Riley smiled at Arthur and then looked after Ian and Kat.
“Why are they here?” Riley asked.

Ian lay Kat on the couch downstairs, it was big and fluffy. He flipped on the TV and sat down in a recliner.

Arthur sighed, looking over at Alfred whose expression had gone back to it's new normal depresse one.
"I never told you what Ian's job was, did I?" Arthur huffed. "He's like a weapon, a killing machine. And he is assigned people to, ah, kill."

Kat looked at the TV aimlessly, then to the floor. She couldn’t fall asleep, she couldn’t.

Riley’s eyes went wide “He’s a…assassin, then?” Riley asked carefully.
