Tibbeh wrote: People that swear by Kodi/Dusty say that because Ralph is to big of a goof and he wouldn't last in a relationship. Well not everyone loves a "serious" guy. (I know I like a guy that can actually have fun). Kodi is obsessed with his job. That's not good for a relationship at all. So if you want a reason why I think Kodi and Dusty would never work? There it is.
Besides the fact that Kodi is pretty dang boring. That's exactly my point in that article I wrote, Tibb! That Dusty likes fun-lovin' guys, not Gary Stus. (Plus their pups would have more variety in build, haha)

If I had a penny for every time you have copped the "he cares too much about his job" argument, I could retire. And I concede, workaholism has led to the destruction of some marriages and families. But that entirely depends on the nature of their commitment to their job. For example, a guy who is obsessed with his job because he wants to make a lot of money, surround himself and those close to him with all kinds of nice things, maybe wants to retire at age fifty, and won't let anything get in the way of those things, would be a bad husband and a lousy father. And I can definitely say that with authority because the kind of man I just described is my dad, and those were the very attitudes and obsessions that led him to throw my mom to the winds and to pretty much ignore me and my brothers.
For another case, let's say you have someone in a high-powered job who is obsessed with holding onto it because of the prestige, the opportunity to boss others around, the ladies it attracts. He'd be even worse. A man who is authoritarian at work is not about to come home and be truly caring to his family. He'll probably be abusive, he's VERY likely to be unfaithful I would say, and again, he's only going to look after those who keep up their status as yes-men (or yes-women, you get the idea) and pander to his every whim. Let's see, who am I describing now? His name starts with an S and rhymes with "heel."
On the other hand, suppose you have someone who works hard because he wants to benefit other people. A doctor who runs himself ragged to keep his patients alive. A lawyer or a judge who goes above and beyond to ensure that justice is done in a case, even if that means his client loses. Or a courier who gives it 200% because he knows people are counting on him. And if it comes down to a choice of popularity, his career, even his life versus doing the right thing, he'll do the right thing every time. If a man is willing to lay that much on the line for a total stranger, imagine what he will do for his family. Buit oh yeah, that's right. Morality is boring. So forget that the other options would be self-centered tyrants. They're more "fun" because they only care about themselves.
And FYI, I've heard the argument that Ralph is a goof about a thousand times. All of them from you people. Besides, he's just as far off the ideal base as you accuse Kodi of being; he's just at the opposite end of the scale. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Ralph would be as big of a jerk as Steele. But would he have the staying power necessary to pull through a relationship? Would he own up to it when he blew it on something important after offering nonstop excuses for always being late on the job? I doubt it.

You know what I think? I think you people are thinking way too much into this. I mean.. they're just stupid animated dogs from a generic and poorly made movie.. why does who they're with and who they're not with matter so much? Jeez.

Rebel --> Well, I can't speak for you or cat or Tibb. For my part, it could be that I anjoy a good debate. I was always told in high school that it was too bad there was no debate team for me to join.
On the other hand, it could be that I think it's time for those who consider morality and integrity to be such terrible things to re-think their position. I mean if some stupid chromosomes, a few hormones, and a self-seeking attitude are what people seek in a relationship, they're in for a world of hurt, inside and out. And if all play and no work is what they're after, they're headed for starvation - or just being deadweight on the rest of society.
In other words, inverted morality bothers me whether it's in regard to fiction or non-fiction. The minute we start belittling the humanitarians and idolizing sociopaths, we've officially gone off the deep end. Granted, the part concerning sociopaths doesn't quite fit Ralph, but we're still talking some inverted values here.

Now who's thinking too far into this? For a wall of text, it sure says alot of nothing xD Hahaha. I know plenty of people who're good for each other for practical reasons, but not for anything else. They're together cuz its expected, rather. No true happiness, they're just trying to make ends meet. No fun then no love, man. Besides, look how much cuter (not to mention, happier) Dusty and Ralph's pups would be. http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en ... umart=1038

Well...the last few pages have most certainlly been intresting...
Anywho, I don't care for KodiXDusty, I think Kodi is better off being single. I mean, he's just a cartoon dog. Does he really need a wife?

Truth to tell, my main reason for supporting it, philosophically at least, is the "moral victory" aspect of it, if you will. The pairing itself is of little consequence as Rebel pointed out, but it reflects a deeper matter, namely the principle of integrity and diligence paying off.

Again, so true. I love that brutal honesty. Plus you don't want a working dog to get pregnant anyway.

Estamos Condenados wrote: I don't mind the Dusty character, but there are three little things that stick out to me:
1) Kodi is an immoral, stuck-up crybaby who cracks under peer pressure; he'd rather let the guy flying the bushplane his team plucked a lucky win from freeze to death or be mauled by a wild bear in the snow-covered wilderness then not making sure that someone's mail on time. I repeat, Kodi would sooner condemn an innocent man to death than miss a day of work; even though she had no leadership skills, even ALEU showed some degree of compassion without being guilt-tripped into it by Balto and Jenna. Kodi would be a HORRIBLE parent.
2) Ralph is a moron who just lets himself be the punchline of the group. He is essentially Patrick the Starfish with fur.
3) All three of them are some mailman's workhorses; does anyone here honestly believe that he could afford to let them breed with each other when there's work to be done? LOL okay, you win. Best points made by anyone. (On a side note, basically its better to be single and incapable of having children than to be hitched to Kodi.)
