"Have you seen this movie?" Heather chirped quetly as the beginning credits rolled onto the screen. She sat back too, then offered the bowl to Atticus.

"Actually, no." he replied with an embarrassed chuckle, then he took a handful of popcorn.

"Seriously? Then you're going to love it. It'd got aliens and fighting anf these crazy dragon things! It's my favorite movie, but it's really long!" Heather explained in a hushed tone.

Atticus chuckled, "I don't mind long movies." He ran his hand through his dark hair then started to eat from his hand of popcorn.

Heather nodded her approval and took a handful of popcorn from the bowl, she then began to watch the movie.

The movie went on for awhile, and it had begun to get dark outside. It got dark in New York fairly quick though. The detective blinked so his eyes would adjust to the lighting, he looked down at Scout was curled in his chair sleeping, and snoring contently.

Heather noticed the darkness, but didn't mind it much.

Atticus stretched his arms and rubbed the back of his neck. After another hour or so the movie ended and the TV automaticly switched over to the local TV station, a feature the TV was programed with after it ejected the disk. The local story caught Atticus's attention and he perked.

"Last night, yet another criminal has fallen to the illusive vigilante known monotonously as "Ghost" . This time it is none other than vicious gang boss and mass murderer, Thomas Drewins. Drewins has avoided the police for nearly two years, and has killed around a total of 24 citizens. Most citizens are glad to be under 'Ghost's watch' but police say they are still looking for the phantom hero." the TV reporter said.

Heather too perked at the mention of Ghost a smile itched to her face, “Did you hear about this guy? Apparently he kills all the mass murderers, sounds like he means well. I guess he’s doing the right thing, in a way. But I do feel sorry for the guy, it seems he just wants to be the ‘hero’ when people are calling him a murderer.” Heather said, listening intently on the segment.

Atticus was silent for a moment then he smiled "Would you believe he has fans? You have no Idea how many folks stand outside the department and protest for Ghost's freedom, for the cops to just give up the hunt for him... People love believing that New York really is guarded by a superhero."

“But he’s just a guy, he’ll get caught. Probably end up being crazy or something. The cops always get their guy, always. Even if the guy is killing the mass murders, they’re still people. He probably had like, what, 10 counts of murder? He’ll get caught and the ‘superhero’ illusion will disintegrate. Mark my words Atticus, they’ll figure out who he is. Either that or someone will kill him first.” The words hung in the air after she’d said them.

"Don't be so sure Heather... I've listened to some of the other detectives... even some of them are siding with Ghost, including me. Plus he's a master at deception. At every crime scene, he doesn't leave DNA, no bullet shells, nothing. The only thing we've ever found was a tape recorder, he had recorder this guy admitting to killing a thirteen year old girl.... but it didn't have finger prints or nothing on it." Atticus replied.

"I'm just saying, he'll mess up. Even the tiniest thing could book him. I side with him just fine, death if better than prison, but still. He just better watch his back." Heather said, not wanting this to turn into an arguement.

Atticus smirked "Alright, you're right, all criminals fall eventually." he replied.

((Random Idea *lol*: What if Heather is like walking home or whatever, since it's like night time, and like something happens so "Ghost" comes and saves her?))

Heather sighed and looked at the clock, it was 12:00. She frowned and stodd "I'd better be getting home, it's late." She pointed out.
