I believe I might need to post on this again as my opinion had changed. I generally don't like Simba's Pride as much as I used to, but nonetheless I have my favourites.
The previous list is now completely inaccurate. I don't like Kovu now. I don't despise him, but I find him too sappy for my liking. I generally don't like movies that focus on romance, so it's only natural that I don't like the main characters of such movies.
Nala I also don't like as much as I did before. I did like her in the first movie, but she's simply not interesting in the second one.
My new favourites are Zira, Vitani and Nuka, the three outsiders. I personally believe Zira was a pretty good villain in a sense. Her insanity made her interesting to watch. I would like if they kept her suicide at the end, though, that would give more depth to her.
Vitani was always one of my favourites, mostly due to her attitude. She's an interesting character and I've got to wonder what does she think about her mother. Nuka's and Kovu's relationship with Zira is pretty clear, but Vitani didn't get much focus in the movie, which is a shame. I'd actually be more interested in the movie if it was made from the Outsiders point of view.
Nuka is definitely an interesting character. He may be grumpy, but he's got reasons - I mean, what would you feel if your mother completely ignored you and your father didn't really recognize you either. Sure, you'd be pretty desperate for attention which would make you grumpy whenever you wouldn't get it.
Anyway, so the list goes like this:
1. Vitani
2. Nuka
3. Zira.

My favourite characters are either Vitani or Nuka.

I would have to say that my favourite character out of all The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride characters is Kovu. From his screen time as a cub, to his adulthood I have loved him. I think he has grown the most out of all the characters, and he has that mysterious yet sweet personality that a lot of people like. On top of that I love how the animators designed him to look so much like Scar, it gives you the impression he's going to be evil up until the moment you're just proven wrong. And as I stated before, he grew the most out of all the characters. As a cub he was the favourite, selected to be Simba's assasin and the new king of the Pride Lands and trained to kill. But as an adult, he came to realise that love is stronger than hate and so he decided to join the good side despite the risks.
His voice, his personality, his design and his story are just too likeable to be ignored. So to put a long story short, Kovu is indeed my favourite.
Just behind him in second place is the character Nuka. Do I really need to explain why? A lot of my reasons have already been stated in many posts before me.
