Talon looked down at Nika, gently licking her head behind the ear. "Goodnight Nika." He whispered softly as he rest his head on her neck, his tail gently resting on her tail. He breathed in her scent and then drifted off to sleep.

Morning!

Nika's sleep was disturbed by a chipmunk that had fallen from the tree and landed on her.The sky was a light blue, but the sun ahd yet to come up "Might as well get something to eat." She murmmered.The forest seemed full of light and hope as she walked forwards in it, the wounds on her side seemed to not even be there anymore, only a very faint pain when she stretched her leg to far.She soon caught wiff of a sweet smelling animal, she stepped forward quietly and saw a herd of elk."How do I catch these guys?" She whispered, a voice entered her thoughts in answer "Its all in trial and error Nika, learn from your mistakes." This had been the tenth time she had heard the voice since she had became a leader, but she had heard many times when she was only a pup.Nika looked around the herd for a weak elk, a cow in perticular.Stalking forward, she saw a limping cow a little ways from the herd.Nka shot out from the thicket, her jaws etended as she flung herself at her back, managing to grab a pinch of meat between her jaws but the cow began to kick wildly and Nika flew off."Gah!Stupid elk!" She spat as she went for a bite at the ankle, as she bit down the cow kicked upwards before Nika could back off.'So I'll just back up after I bite her ankle.' She thought as she tried her plan, she bit onto the cow's ankle and quickley backed up before she could kick at her again.After a few bites the cow slowed down."Maybe I can jump on you now." She snarled, reminding herself of her first try earlier during the hunt.She leaped up and bit onto her back, sinking her claws and teeth into the cow's back, pulling herself farther up so she could get to her neck.As she climbed up the elk was kicking and bucking furiously, trying to knock the black she-wolf off and save her life.Nika found the neck and began to bite and claw at it furiously, bit as she let go of her grip from her neck she flung infront of the cow, still dangling from her neck."Give up!" Nika snarled loudly between her bloody jaws.After a few more kicks and scrambles the elk fell to the ground, blood pouring heavily from her neck and the breathing lowing."I'm sorry." Nika whispered faintly before slicing the cow's throat so she wouldn't feel the pain any longer.The cow flinched before losing her life.

Talon shot up to his feet, he looked around for Nika and sniffed the air, following her scent her found her next to a dead female elk. "Nika, you did really well!" He said as he trotted over to her, after she had slept next to him, his feelings of wanting to protect her grew stronger.

Nika smiled and blushed a little bit "Thanks, wanna share it with me?" She asked, tail wagging.

Roki yawned, opening his eyes. Sadness immediatly filled him, and he pulled his stiff body off the gorund. He immediatly looked at where Amaya had been placed to rest, making him want to lay back down and sleep everything away. He releculantly shook dirt out of his black and white fur, and stood up.

Nika stepped forward, nudging her fresh kill a little closer to Talon.

so sorry its been so long! Im back now though!

Talon looked at Nika, and nodded. "Thanks...but you should eat first, i want to make sure that you stay as healthy as possible." He couldnt help those words that slipped out but he looked around the clearing, as if covering up those words with his bodyguard like act. He wasnt used to showing emotions infront of people, still even after all of the years. A song flash through his head and he chuckled slightly at himself, wich sounded more like an annoyed huff.

Roki padded slowly abck to where the rest camped, and sat down by the nearest tree. He knew he should ea something, but he felt to burdened by the lingering sadness to move. He laid down, curling up in a tight ball.

Nika smiled thankfully and began to nibble on the hind leg "Why don't we both eat?" She giggled a litte before continued her meal. "We have to save some for teh rest of teh pack, I know they'll be starving." She huffed, she still wasn't use to think of herself at the pack's leader yet.

Talon nodded, took two bites of the meat, swallowed it and then took his postion as body guard again. His ear flickered as he heard Nika huff, he looked at her, being friends for so long, he could tell something was bothering her, and by figuring what just happend he figured it was something to do with being the alpha. "Your going to be a fine leader." He told her, he glanced at her and then kept his gaze on the trees.


Nisha lifted her head off of her paws and then looked around. "...I need to talk to Rowan..." She pushed herself up onto her feet, her hind leg staying off the ground. She limped through the pack searching for the german shepered. She found him and she nudged his shoulder. "Rowan."

Nika smiled weakly at him, her eyes brightening slightly. "Thanks Talon." She slid the kill over her back and began to walk back to camp.

Rowan stretched as he heard his name. He smacked his lips to rid his doggy breath and to unlock his jock. The sun beat down on his soft brown and black fur and he tried to soak in the few seconds of peace before he turned to Nisha "Yes?" He perked his ears up and straightened up his posture.

Nisha looked at Rowan with a slight smile. "I dont mean to bring up any bad memories or anyting but...when you were with the police...did you get any knowledge on how to fix wounds?" She turned to the side a bit, her hind leg that had had been caught in an steel wolf trap came into veiw. The sunlight showed the wound that was deep and tore through muscle, dried blood covering the wound and her leg. "...It hurts pretty bad."

Talon walked alongside Nika, taking some of the weight of the deer off of her back.
