Skye watched this scene, slightly amused. Connor was all over himself to thank her, but wasn't amking it too obvious. She had just known Connor for a while, and could tell. She felt another conflicting emotion though, and furrowed her brow as she wondered what it was, then wondered how she could be feeling it. She was feeeling jealousy. For Brooklyn, because Connor was offering her a seat. Her cheeks flamed red and felt hot as she realized this, and she felt slightly embarrassed.

Ooc:?/ Wanted to add some roamnce, just a little though. Rio, if you aren't ok with it, I could edit it, I don't mind.

Zac turned quickly to see Brooklyn giving Conner a necklace. "Figures she'd be the one giving him a necklace. That's how things work out in this place," he joked to himself. He looked on as Conner headed to a table near them. As soon as he got the least bit bored, he turned back to the others. He turned quickly to Skye to see why she wasn't joking around like the rest of them, and saw he cheeks red. As he looked around from Conner to Brooklyn then back to Skye, he grinned. He whispered in Skye's ear, "Jealous are we?" he said.

"Yeah," Zac said sarcastically. He pushed her shoulder with his hand slightly, in a playful motion. "Don't worry, I'm the only one who notices." He looked around at the others who were still laughing and joking around. They turned to Zac and asked, "Hey are you guys gonna play truth or dare or what?" Zac laughed. "Yeah, we'll join in later." They shook their heads in a joking way. "Suit yourself!" they said, trying to make them want to join in now.

Brooklyn smiled to Connor as he took back his necklace. "Don't worry, your lucky i was sharp enough to hold onto it for you" Her voice was smooth as she payed for a small bag of cookies before walking over to him. "Oh thanks I feel loved" She half joked before looking over her shoulder, the burning feeling of eyes on her was very distinct and she didn't like it.

A few strands of her black hair slowly whispered over her jaded green eyes, breaking her pupils from their view before taking a seat besides Conner and looked towards him. "Where did you get your necklace?" Brooklyn said, lightly patting with her forefinger, the crease against his collarbone where his pendant was now. In all honesty she hadn't seen one like that before, only once when she was hiking out in the forest of new Hampshire.. but it didn't seem likely ... or would it..



Isabella giggled, her dimples creasing into her cheek as her blue eyes sparkled happily. She leaned over and kissed Mort's cheek before leaning back to her normal stance. "You have such a cute, sloppy smile you know that?" It made her rosy cheeks flush even redder when she had her lips against his warm light skin, and she could tell he was about to fall right over.

Glancing up she heard the knob turn before the nurse's face came into view after she opened the door. Izzy flashed the honey-eyed middle aged woman one of her signature heart-melting smiles that she was so famed for. It wasn't long before both Mort and Isa were sitting in her office, waiting to be released after she had cleansed off Isabella's wound with some antithetic ointment.

'She-she-she-' Mort couldn't even get his thoughts together. He was frozen in a hot paralyzing shock, that left him feeling like he was going to fall over. Barely able to stand, talking was certainly out of the question. But he was saved by the door opening and the nurse leading them inside. She knew from the wound why Izzy was there. "What has you so pale, hun?" She asked Mort after looking him over thinking he needed medical attention too. "Huh? I'm f-fine." He managed to get a hold of himself and smile properly this time.

Izzy was patched up, and they were walking to lunch. Mort had a hard time convincing the nurse that his sickly features "are natural, really!", but once he did he found himself looking forward to whatever was for munching that day for he felt like he was starving. Opening the double doors just in time to glance Brooklyn and Connor sitting at a table.

"Let's eat!" Mort exclaimed as he grabbed a tray and started collecting food. "Then we can join Con and Brooklyn."


Connor almost flinched when she indicated the pendant. He wasn't used to close contact with people. He was taken aback by her question. He stared at his chest, as if he was able to see the necklace through his shirt. He reached a hand past the collar of his shirt and pulled it out again. He ran his thumbs over it. The small glistening silver dragon with its seemingly glowing emerald eyes felt smooth under his touch.

He remembered back to when he got it... how he got it... "It was gift for my brother..." flashes of a crushed car with blood stained windows and echoes of his mother and father crying out in grief and agony rang in his mind. "He's dead now."

Not wanting to be a total downer, he stuffed the charm down his shirt quickly and pulled the bag of chips from his pocket. "It was a while ago though." He opened the bag in a swift motion and started crunching semi-quietly on the chips, watching Mort and Izzy get their food.

Isabella followed after Mort, smiling softly to Brooklyn on her way to the lunch line. She grabbed her normal salad and waited for Mort to finish grabbing his food. Then both made their way to the lunch lady, pulling her wallet from her pocket Iza paid the money for her food and looked back to Mort, patiently waiting.

She was not one to eat 'junk' food, health was very important to her. it was a trait her mother had passed on to her, and she from her grandmother and so forth. Eying the carrot and the bright juicy tomato Issa heard her tummy growl slowly, as if yearning for the food madly. Blinking slowly she smirked and walked besides Mort as they made their way to Conner and Brooklyn.



Waving slowly to Isa and Mort before turning her gaze back to Connor, curious about him. Brooklyn found it hard to find words as she listened to Conner. Looking downward she gulped quietly before glancing back to him, that eyes-on-you feeling hadn't left her mind yet. " I'm sorry..." She whispered hoarsely, wanting to dearly hug him but by instinct she held back, being overall respectful. Pained memories of her sister-like friend from back home slowly made their way along her mind.

A tiny smile formed on her lips as she glanced back to him, her green eyes shimmering deeply. "It's like.. they never really left your heart..." Brooklyn's voice was a bit softer and tender, somewhat sharing with Conner that she herself had lost a loved one as-well. Now unable to take this feeling she looked over her shoulder once more, this time she caught sight of the dark haired girl from before.. Skye it was.

A small frowned creased the girl's pretty facial features before she looked back towards Conner, somewhat tilting her head before leaning in to whisper. " I believe we are being stalked?" Brooklyn had asked, half-expecting him not to answer as she was tempted to look back, but didn't.

Zac looked at Skye once more, then noticed Brooklyn look at her. When Brooklyn turned away, he looked at Skye again. "Are you sure you're not jealous? Because you seem pretty jealous to me," Zac said, chuckling slightly. When he stopped, he put his hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure they don't have feelings for each other, and even if they do, this is just high school. They're probably gonna become boyfriend and girlfriend and break up in an instant." Zac grinned. The things he had just said were from experience. He told Skye this to assure her jealousy was not the best way to go, and that her time would come.

Conner swallowed and contemplated her words. His brother was his age when he died. He himself was only seven or so. Micheal wasn't the best older brother, they fought and he didn't stand up for Connor when he was bullied in Elementary. But around the holidays and at home, Connor idolized him. Mike was loved by all, and that's what the young boy wanted. Now... it didn't seem to make any difference. The accident had changed all that. Time had passed, Connor had all but forgotten his feelings about his sibling for he was to young at the time to understand. His parents scars however had not healed. They shut down all emotion, and barely work. What they were now trapped in wasn't life, but just a meaningless existence that they have no choice but to go through for Connor (they claimed). Had they not been destroyed by the loss of their perfect quarterback son, maybe his life would be different... there was no need to ponder that though, he concluded. For he'd never know.

Eyes that had been peering onto them were brought to his attention by Brooklyn whispering in his ear. He glanced out of the corner of his eye to see Zac was talking to Skye. He must've just missed her... "Skye's alright." He pulled out a bottle of water from his jacket pocket that he'd stuck there from his locker, and took a swig. "Maybe she wants to talk to you?" He thought that might be the reason was why she was eying Brooklyn down.

Mort piled his plate with meat and crackers then grabbed a bottle of tea before paying fast and joining Izzy. They walked over to join Connor and Brooklyn who seemed to be talking. "Has he said more than five words to you, Brooklyn? Never thought I'd see the day!" Mort smiled at Con, who returned his humor with an unimpressed glare.

"I am not jealous!" she said, loudly. She put a hand over her mouth, her blue eyes looking surprised at what she had said. THe blush on her cheeks was now open, and people had gone silent nearby, or atleast it seemed they had to her. She couldn't beleive she had just blurted it out, now everyone would see her as a jalous freak, and would pump her with questions and teasing glares and words.

Zac realized Skye would be humliated if he didn't do something. He quickly covered for her. "I know you're not jealous of my car! You told me that already!" he shouted so the students around him could hear. They shrugged and then began talking and joking around once more. Zac gave a sigh of relief for Skye. He smiled at her, as if to say 'you're welcome'.

Skye shot him a relieved and thankful glance, her blush subsiding a little, and she looked anywhere other than Zac or Connor.
