I have a couple more title ideas. Hope you don't mind me throwing these out there, especially since I didn't work on the story. Coming up with punny titles is a hobby of mine.
Out of the Baloo
Dismay at the Races (pun on A Day at the Races, a Marx Brothers flick)

I'm not so good with titles myself, so I'm glad you enjoy coming up with them! Thanks! steet wrote: Of course the best is Photoshop, but if you can't afford it, you can try The Gimp (free), some online free applications, or Paint Shop Pro (cheaper than Photoshop but still good) Yes, Photoshop is probably prohibitively expensive, and I don't want to suggest using cracked software, so it looks like we'll be using freeware/open-source. I have Gimp that I use for some things, but there is definitely a learning curve for that program. Also the GUI is a little awkward... I wish it was more like Photoshop's GUI, but oh well. I haven't used the other programs but I'll take a look and make a decision. Thanks for the suggestions! I had made a list of graphics software that may be useful, but I've temporarily misplaced it. I did find a cool looking application that may come in useful... Pencil is a free cross-platform open-source traditional 2D animation program that looks promising... Okay, so I know animation is still pretty much out of the question, but still, it's nice to dream. About story titles, here are the candidates we have so far: The Race's Edge a pun on The Razor's Edge Shadow of a Duck a pun on Shadow of a Doubt Race the Wild Wind a pun on Reap the Wild Wind The Fast and the Furryous a pun on The Fast And The Furious The Fast and the Spurious (spurious means insincere or dishonest) Days of Blunder Second Treason a pun on 'second season' Strafe Harbor a pun on 'safe harbor' The Pilot's Strife a pun on The Pilot's Wife Out of the Baloo Dismay at the Races a pun on A Day at the Races
If any one of these strikes your fancy, or if you think up another one, please let me know. Thanks!

To me it looks like too much exagerated (not very Disney style), I honestly prefered the first one you drew...I know that they did that in some episodes (Wildcat in "Stormy Weather" for ex.), but it's bad animation to me. Besides it works better when it's a comedic situation, but here it isn't. Quote: Also the GUI is a little awkward... I wish it was more like Photoshop's GUI, but oh well. Well there is also Gimp Shop, which is closer to Photoshop : http://www.gimpshop.com/Quote: The Race's Edge a pun on The Razor's Edge Shadow of a Duck a pun on Shadow of a Doubt Race the Wild Wind a pun on Reap the Wild Wind The Fast and the Furryous a pun on The Fast And The Furious The Fast and the Spurious (spurious means insincere or dishonest) Days of Blunder Second Treason a pun on 'second season' Strafe Harbor a pun on 'safe harbor' The Pilot's Strife a pun on The Pilot's Wife Out of the Baloo Dismay at the Races a pun on A Day at the Races I vote for "The Fast and the Furryous"...I don't know the titles except this one (in France it's called "Fast and Furious" though)

No, it's not a comic situation, but I don't think expression exaggeration is limited to comic scenes. I don't see how it doesn't fit the Disney style either... Maybe if you could give me an example. Also I have to disagree that exaggeration results in bad animation... Most cartooning requires at least a little exaggeration to look right, squash and stretch for example... at least that's my understanding. This is the image I was thinking of when I made those suggestions: Attachment: Bearly-Alive_Kit_Ahhhh!!!.png I know it's a profile view, but it's the closest thing I've found so far that's about what I thought his expression would be. steet wrote: Well there is also Gimp Shop I've played around with that several months ago, and at the time Gimpshop was still on version 2 while Gimp was on at least 2.6, plus not all the features of Gimpshop even worked. Maybe things have improved since then so I'll give it a look. steet wrote: I vote for "The Fast and the Furryous I'll probably go for that one or "The Fast And The Spurious". I like the latter because the "Fast" references the races, while the "Spurious" references the land grab scheme.

Well, lets see if I can make the eyes big but not to big . . . kind of a middle ground. I remember TS having some exageration but not a lot. TS was suppossed to be "real world" not like Looney Toones of course it can't be to real because anyone who ever gets shot at doesn't die. I liked my first set of eyes better but not the eyebrows. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

PrtyWatrPrincess wrote: Well, lets see if I can make the eyes big but not to big . . . kind of a middle ground. I remember TS having some exaggeration but not a lot. Yeah, I guess you're right. The middle ground would be good; the eyebrows were the main thing. I'm trying to build a "expression and emotion reference library" of TS screen-shots so we can avoid as many re-draws as we can. (It's just taking awhile because almost every time I think of an expression I want screen-shot of, I can't remember what episode it was in. I haven't had time to actually sit down and watch TS since last year. I know, I know, shame on me. ) Btw, you don't have to redraw the entire picture, just erase and redraw the eyes. I don't want this to be any more difficult/time consuming than it has to be. And don't worry, any residual eraser marks can be fixed digitally. Composing all the illustrations digitally is unavoidable, so any necessary tweaks can be done then. On a side note, were you still planning on getting a drawing tablet? I'm not saying you need one, I'm just curious. And thanks again for helping out with the drawing! Your drawings always impress! I wish I could draw like you, Opus, Eclipse, Greykitty and all the other awesome artists on the site. It really bothers me when I can't (as in no skill) do something. I'd love to learn to draw, paint, sculpt, play an instrument, and all those cool creative things, but I can't because I already have so much on my plate. :-/ Oh well, maybe someday.

The Big Guy and I are in the process of buying our first home. That has taken any extra cash that we had to purchase it. Had to move in with my parents in order to be able to save the money to do it. We are in that finanicial bracket where we make enough to get by but not enough to get ahead. I would like to purchase one soon but I wouldn't even know which one to get. I have an Aunt-Cousin who might have one I could use. She is really artsy too and my have one.

Ah yes, I am VERY familiar with that bracket... Well, last night I finally sent the TSVS invitations to 14 of the ~23 artists from this site on my list. 'Bout Time huh? The rest will go out tonight. Hopefully some of them will be able/want to help. After the remaining invitations for artists on this site go out, I guess I'll set my sights on DeviantArt and FurAffinity. Should I create an account just to post comments/PM when I'm not an artists, or should I just ask TS fans that are members of those sits to make a post on behalf of the VS? I'd just like some input on this.

I'd just like some input on this. I think it would be quicker if you would register and post comments yourself. Unless some of our artists would be willing to do that?

Okay, I finished PMing the artists on this site tonight, so I guess the next stop is deviantart. I created an account today and I'll PM them tomorrow night. As for furaffinity... furaffinity wrote: New account registration has been temporarily suspended. It looks like I'll have to depend on an artists with an account there until registration reopens. Really, most artists on furaffinity are also members of deviantart, so it's not a big problem. On another note, I had this crazy idea that I thought I would share, because... well, why not? What if we were to just drop the movie idea and go with a miniseries instead? (Feel free to disagree, I know it's a little late in the game to be changing things with the pilot.) In other words, what if we don't worry about making the movie 90 minutes like an actual animated feature and just give it as many episodes as it needs. That would eliminate the length problem and actually give us more time to develop the story and characters. The script would stay mostly intact, except for a few additionally inserted scenes. The length would likely be five to six episodes, if the story can support it and not be bloated. Just an idea... steet wrote: On your example picture 0x7B, it's not too exagerated, just how it should be. Yeah, my bad for the bulging eyes suggestion, I was going from memory when I made it. (When I looked up the episode to get the screen-shot, I was a little surprised because I would have sworn that his eyes were more bugged-out. His mouth is open pretty wide though, eh? PrtyWatrPrincess wrote: I would like to purchase one soon but I wouldn't even know which one to get. I have an Aunt-Cousin who might have one I could use. I meant to respond to this in my last post... oops. It's not a big deal, if you can get you hands on one (buy/borrow) cheaply/easily then go ahead, but don't go to any trouble/expense for it. Also, since the art will have to be composed digitally, you could actually do the pictures more sketchy to save time and can later be "cleaned up" when it goes to be inked and colored digitally. What I'll probably do is send the .celtx project archive to the artists so they'll know exactly how to layout the scene. We can use the storyboard and notes function to communicate and keep everything straight. If you don't have Celtx, a download link is in the resources tab in the TSVS section of the main site.

The most famous are the Wacom ones : http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp& ... d9727d98e0I actually bought a Trust graphical tablet a few years ago, but I rarely use it...(yes, I DID plan on doing drawings and such, but still never got the time to really use it) Quote: what if we don't worry about making the movie 90 minutes like an actual animated feature and just give it as many episodes as it needs Well we aren't going to animate a 90 minutes film anyway, so we don't have to worry about the length. But be careful about making things longer. It's hard not to get people lost or uninterested if you give too much details.
