"Only if their holding your head under water," Cassie said teasingly, pushing down in his shoulder hoping he would fall into the water.
Cody easily followed Aerion's messily obvious trail. He heard a faint sobbing long before he ever emerged from between two trees to see her curled up on a rock. He came up behind her, making sure to step on leaves and snap a few twigs so she would be aware of his presence. Then, heistantly, he put a hand on her back as he walked around the rock to face her. Then, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closely to his chest.

Cassie swam to the surface. "Whats that supposed to mean?" she asked with a smirk. "Don't act like I can pverpower you."
As soon as Aerion spoke, Cody practically jumped away from her. He flinched away from her head that was trying to check his temperature. He had forgotten that werewolves had a warmer body heat than humans considering he and the rest of the gang, except Bree of course, hadn't atteneded high school or anything like that since they were bitten. "Um," Cody said, taking a step back. He rubbed the back his neck trying to think up something quick. "Its nothing. Honest. I've always been a bit one the warm side."

Cassie waded over to Zane, a concerned crease in her brow. She put one hand on his back and another on his arm as she came to his side. "Hey, are you alright?" she asked in a small, slightly scared and definately concerned voice. She already knew that he wasn't "alright", but she wasn't sure what else to say. It was a rare occasion that a werewolf got sick to any degree.
Cody smiled slightly, more relieved than anything that Aerion had dropped the subject so easily. And it amused him that she was so concerned about his health. It made him want to roll his eyes at her, but he refamed from trying to explain that inside joke. "I'll be sure to do that," he said in a skeptical tone. "And don't worry about it. We all know how Bree can be when she gets fired up."

Cassie hurried after him, hopping into the passenger seat. She was really worried about him. As rare as it was for a werewolf to get sick, it had to be even rarer for them to feel cold. It wasn't long after getting into the car that she felt a thin coat of sweat over her body. But she ignored it for the time being. "Zane, what's wrong?" she demanded in the kindest way possible.
Cody took the seat next to her. "You sure you're okay?" he asked, making sure she wasn't about to fall into a fit of tears again.

"I;m sure they're fine," Cody said with a reassuring smile. Right, Cass? he mentally asked Cassie as he sent her the very last piece of his conversation.
Cassie caught Zane's hand to stop him from turning of the heater. "If it's helping you. I can just deal," she said in a strict maternal tone. Cody, I think you should get back here. I don't know whats going on. He hasn't said anything, but I know he's feeling sick and he was pratically shivering from the cold a few seconds ago when we got out of the lake. I think somethings wrong. I know something. Get over here now! she mentally screamed at him. It was the only thing to stop her from rambling on.

"Hold on," Cody said, already starting to stand up and walk back to the lake as he tried to sort through Cassie's ramblings. That girl could get so worked up! "Maybe we should head back. I think Bree would feel better knowing you didn't get eaten by wolves." Irony was a funny thing. Especailly when it wasn't meant to be funny. Cassie, tell me exactly whats happening. I can only hear your thoughts, not see.
Cassie took a soothing breath, listeing to Cody's calm, confident tone that remined her so much of an alpha. She mentally nodded. "Zane, tell me what exactly is wrong. And don;t try to sugar coat it, I can already tell somethings really not right."

Blurry vision, headache, and he's cold Cassie mentally sent to Cody. I think he's trying to 'act tough' though. But I;m not gonna get anything more out of him. Cassie sighed as she looked worridly at Zane.
Calm down, Cass Cody said. I'm alomst there. He looked over his shoulder to make sure Aerion was still keeping up before emerging from the trees.

Cassie gave Zane a weak smile as she squeezed his hand. "Can you blame me for worrying?" she asked, the teasing tone in her voice not quite as clear as it would be in a normal situation.
"I don't know," Cody said, trying to sound like he didn't already know what was going on. "I;m gonna go check on Zane and Cassie. I can see that they're in the car. Maybe we're getting ready to leave." He tried to slow his pace to normal as he made his way to the driver's side of the car. He tapped on the window with his knuckles.
