Dogs, cartoon or NOT, are NOT EVER homosexual. PERIOD. That is a purely human condition.

It's called openmindedness. Cat, Artic_wolf, and I along with a few other people (I'm sure) think the idea of Kodi and Kirby is cool! It's something unexpected and out of the normalness of things!

Tibb...having openmindedness about the gay community is all well and good. Trying to assign homosexual or even homoerotic behaviors to animals (be they domestic dogs or whatever else) is just some feely-good, politically-correct nonsense. And it's wrong.

why exactly would they be a great couple? The only reason people love the couple is thats the only female that hes not related too that he knows besides the ralphyxdusty was actually confirmed, so a big no, sorry I just hate this couple.

Oh and by the way Seppala that is a load of rubbish what you said, dogs can be gay, it has been proven, most dogs do not care aout the gender, only humans do, and that is very silly too say that all dogs cannot be gay, I expected better from you of all people. Have you met every dog in the world? Have you? No I didnt think so.

Everyone is entitled to their own likes, and liking ideas about two male dogs getting together is just like people liking the idea of an incest love(remember those fics, people?). And think about it: it's called a "Fanfiction" . . . it couldn't really happen in real life (even if we have the dogs with human feelings and urges and all), but the writer/s wrote it to be different, just like I did with the whole Dingo/Saba idea. Get a grip, okay?

Sure, some people are going to disagree about liking Kodi/Kirby and Kodi/Dusty, but that's the way we are. If we all liked the exact same things, the ideas would get boring and old very quick. Think about it.

IMO, I think the idea of Kodi and Kirby is interesting, but I'll stick to the typical Kodi/Dusty fics most of the time, thanks. (Although, when well-written, it is an interestingly good read!) Ever heard of originality? Use it once a while!

Juuchan,I'm no longer wanting any part of the Kodi/Kirby,or Kodi/Dusty dispute,although I do support the Kodi/Dusty pairing,because it seems to be a lot more logical,and I hope that no one takes this the wrong way,because if they do I'll leave this forum,with just a snap of my fingers,and there are members here who wouldn't want that to happen.

Man, Sarafina...I'm with you! It's getting silly now. How people will misuse children's cartoon characters for the fulfillment of their own fantasies. It's base, and it's a shame. There was a goodness and innocence to the Balto cartoons...not even heterosexual or just plain animal sex was discussed or breached. It wasn't because these are BELOVED CHILDREN'S CHARACTERS. There ought to be some sanctity!

Does that make me a prude? Or a homophobe If you want to see me that way, then fine. I can't stop you. Neither is true. But I DO believe in the utter and inviolable sanctity of children's cartoon characters...and that NO ONE has the right to sully them for "artistic" sake. ("Jeez...it's just fan fiction, for crying out loud! Hey man, it's called 'creativity'! Get over it!" - all EXCUSES to sully decent characters, as far as I am concerned. And I don't care WHO'S writing the fan fiction!)

See? Its like I've said many times before. "If you dont understand it, you're never going to." I'm done on this subject. Sticking to what I think (be it politically correct or not) no amount of complaints will make me think otherwise, and it obviously won't open others' eyes either.

So, Dusty+Kodi fans can stay in their own little alternate universe. We Kodi+??? fans will stay in ours. And if the former have anything to say to the latter (OR vice versa) than either can just go jump from the eighth floor of a building and break something. And while I finish my bitching for the evening, I'll write my sequel fic.

Well, I could say the exact same thing("if you don't understand it, you're never going to")...oh, I understand just fine why SOME people want to play around with characters to create a fantasy...no matter their line of reasoning ("making them more interesting" though? Er...no. That one doesn't hold water. The characters were obviously interesting enough to generate a fan base. Just because some of you don't like them the way they were written doesn't make that an end-all and be-all. It is only your interpretation. Granted, you're entitled to it, and no foul. But I will never accept the idea of making the characters gay...nor would I accept erotic or even detailed romantic fan fiction even if it were HETEROsexually-based. Wrong is wrong is wrong in the case of these characters. They deserve to be protected and respected. Nor will I simply allow you to finish this with a brush-off line like "if you don't understand it, you're never going to". (Don't get yourself in a bunch...saying "I won't allow you" has nothing to do with being a threat or anything. It means ONLY that I won't walk away accepting a slap on the wrist for simply speaking my mind).

I understand it fine. I don't ACCEPT it. And never will. I do have that right. And I have a right to speak in defense of the characters. Just as you have the right to speak in salute to homoerotic fan fiction...and your going on and on about it is protected speech here, so too do I have the right to speak in the defense of their being respected AS-IS, and am entitled to my opinion being protected speech here as well. I've said nothing at all detrimental about homosexuals, or homoerotic literature in of itself (whatever floats everyone's boats). I have denounced it as it relates to the Balto characters. And that is no wrong-doing. It is simply counter-point. I assume that members are permitted to offer (ardently, if necessary, so long as it does not degenerate into arguments or flaming) counter-points, yes?

However, it works for me that everyone can go to their own little corners and ponder things that are either outside of the realm of what did happen in the cartoons, or entirely outside of the safety net of children's cartoon characters. We've each said our peace. Each has had his or her say. Yes, time to move on and drop it. Don't you think. I'm done with this too...it was stupid from the beginning, and it is still stupid.
