Balto thought about it, he knew it had to be that hit on the head, Jenna wouldn't forget him any other way. He thought about what he should do next. He decided to try and jog her memory. "Jenna, its me Balto...you don't remember me? We've been friends for a few years now." he said, as if he were just a friend.

Balto kept his calm. "I never said she didn't love you Steele." he said. "Why would you say something like that?" he asked, being more cleve than Steele was a knowing Steele wanted him to lose his temper.

Balto set down on his boat. He whimpered, despite how he had acted around Steele, his heart was aching. A tear run down his muzzle, Jenna was his soul mate, the one he knew he was supposed to be with, even though he knew it wasn't her fault, it hurt him so much he wanted to cry.

"Hey Ralph." said Balto, trying not to cry but unable to stop. "Jenna...she got hurt...and I think...she lost her memory...of me..." he said. By instinct, he pointed his head to the sky and let out a long mornful howl. Several wolves joined with howls of condolence.

Balto finished howling and turned to Ralph. "Earlier today, Kodi said Steele dropped a brick off a roof, thinking it was me...it hit Jenna in the head." he said, it was obvious that he was not only sad because Steele had tricked her into thinking she was his mate, but because she'd gotten hurt like she did.
