Vixen nodded and clawed the ground, but her eyes widened in suprise when three rings of fire flamed up inside the ring instead of only one flame, yet they stayed within the circle evenly.

"Uh...heh." She flattened an ear, and looked up, seeing Xinal.

"Not bad," Granger commented, "for an outburst." He started to turn to face Xinal. "Keep at it. Then slowly work your flame higher after you kept your balance under control. Tell me when you reach your limit." He tossed over his shoulder to Vixen before turning to Xinal, "What's the report?"

Xinal nodded at Vixen before looking at Granger, "All is as quiet as before, our borders have remained intact, sir." Xinal stared with an anusual gleam in his eyes. He was determined to end this war, or at least this cruel tyrant.

"Good." Granger nodded before staring into Xinal's eyes, "Something's... different about you."

"It's nothing sir." Xinal bowed his head. Great, he noticed...

"Planning something?"

Xinal's head shot up, "Wha-?"

"I hold your life in my paws." Granger placed a paw in front of him turning the ground beneath Xinal into quick sand. Xinal was quickly submerged until only his chest and head remained above surface. "I know I can't trust you completely." Granger glared down at him. "You don't know the full meaning of this war for you are an outsider." They were a hair length away from each other now with Granger growling, "Take a wrong step and your going to drown in soil."

Granger then composed himself before sitting up straight once more letting the sand around Xinal turn to solid soil once more, lifting Xinal up from his trap. "Now get out with a hunting patrol. Make yourself useful."

Vixen nodded to Granger and began to practice, gradually making the flames higher, though they looked controlled very well. After a while she sat down and her eyes followed the flames as they grew upward.

Glancing a few times at Xinal, the fire faltered slightly, in distraction. Vixen shook her head and looked away, not understanding why she'd be distracted so easily. (oooh, lol, someone's got a crush)

Finally she turned to Granger. "High enough?" But no hostility was in her voice, she actually had her attitude under control just as well as the flames.

Granger noted the control she had in her voice. "Perfect for a start. Now we can move on." Granger placed a paw down on the glass in front of him and closed his eyes. The glass started to melt once more turning into a clear orange substance. Then suddenly something happened. The sand was somehow separating from the glass turning whatever was left to pure heat. Suddenly the whole glass area turned back into sand.

"You'll need now to muster all you can, for as long as you are power over the flames." A ground pillar rose in front of Granger. "Do not limit your power. Just let yourself be the one to direct it. Never ever let it control you." A column of sand sprang up suddenly covering the ground pillar. "Now turn the sand into glass and collapse the pillar."

Xinal headed out into the other side of the territory from where they hunted yesterday. So far he hasn't found any prey yet as he padded along. "How am I going to revolt?" Xinal spoke to himself. "It's true that I don't know the whole thing but his rule is ruthless and coldblooded!" He shook his head. "I don't know what's going on anymore!" He whined as he fell down onto a ptach of grass. Though his sleep last night lent him energy, it was only enough to keep him awake for the patrol. He fell asleep, not realizing how close he was to the border.

"Turn it to glass?!" The wolfess's eyes went wide. "Isn't that...a little proficent?" Vixen flattened an ear as she said it.

Occ// I guess you can tell I'm not feeling well, or that I have bad writer's block now.

Granger looked at the pillar. "Just try... I need to assess your skills." Granger walked around the pillar gauging the size of earth he has pulled up. "I may need to return to camp to finish the preparations." He ran one last critical look over the pillar before looking at Vixen. "I will continue your training after a few more important things have been finished." He held the ground pillar and gave it a little push checking its sturdyness. "Just give it all you got. Forget about control for a moment. Just don't let it overwhelm you."

He closed his eyes and let the earth as he stepped away checking on the camp via sensing the ground vibrations. Nearly everyone's on their way back to camp. Then there's this one solitary spot somewhere near the border. "What's this?" He muttered.

((It's no problem. I hope you get better soon.))

The whole time Granger was teaching Vixen Daiku was watching and listening intently, The just got the most mean idea and grinned, he focused deep in his mind and he thought, "Water... destroys land and sand into mud." Wiht that he lifted his head and fired a cannonball sized water ball and blew the toar Granger made into a pile of mud, soon the mud seeped into the groun like it never existed. Daiku watching and yipped happily, feeling he just learned something great!

Granger felt the water flash by him. At first he was startled and he thought that the Water wolves have already attacked. How could she move this fast? He thought in panic before common sense dawned on him. Granger turned to look at the source of the water blast. The small little winged luna pup. He gave him a intensified glare, have angry and half satisfied. This luna wolf has a lot of power. But for him to butt in on someone else's tasks instead of doing something useful for the day...

Granger let his paw fall onto the ground in front of him, all the willpower he had a few minutes ago vanished into the air. "You must be doing something useful!" He let out an earth glaive towards the young pup. Then in the air surrounding the earth spike was fire that raged in him. In effect creating a burning spike aimed at the young pup.

A streak went straight past Granger, knocking him off his paws and pinning him down. When his gaze cleared, Vixen was standing over him with a paw to his throat. Growling, she bared her fangs. "Sorry Granger, but he's just a pup! Strong or not, don't attack him unless he's had some sort of training."

Jumping off, she turned to glare at him. "I'm going for a walk." Lashing her tail, Vixen turned on her paws and stalked off into the forest.

Granger just returned a look as he was pinned to the ground. His attack dissolved in mid-air as he concentration was lost.

When she left he reflected on what had just happened. He felt ashamed that he lost all his famous willpower but his pride wouldn't let him admit it. He wasn't ashamed that he attacked a pup. He's done it before. All within reason, at least Granger's reason, one could never quite understand this wolf. Except maybe one, but she's in the other territorry, on the opposite side of his front lines.

As Granger passed Jaiko as he headed back to camp he glared at the young pup as though he were a burden.

Xinal twitched suddenly while he slept fitfully. Lightning came down somewhere in the distance and he woke up with a jerk. At first he was lost, not knowing where he was. Then he remembered that he was supposed to be out hunting. Xinal sighed, "That was a waste of time sleeping... I don't think I've recovered any energy at all..." He stood up once more on weary paws and tried to concentrate on the rest of his hunt, but his mind was so tired that it felt like he was dragging a body made of lead. Very hard to move and something seemed to be pulling him back everytime he moved forward.

He eventually tired and forced himself to rest. He sat down under a tree as rain started to fall.

Daiku watched Granger and even thought he tried to hurt him, he walked beside Granger and jumped on his back, laying up near his neck he rested his head down and scented Granger, strangely noticing Kyluka's Scent on him.

Granger shook his body in an attempt to shake off Jaiko. "Get off of me! What am I to you? Your father or something?" He barked angrily at the pup. He padded on eyes straight ahead. Then his mind returned to the battle that will dawn in two days, "I can't wait to sink my teeth into that water wolf!" His mind was seething with rage.
