I think that Dixie should go out with Steele,she seemed so happy.

That ain't what a girl says to someone she's gonna be happy going out with.

Steele doesn't deserve any of them, lol. But he really doesn't. He's too much of a jerk. And a glory hound.

That can't be all there is to it. Steele's hatred of Balto showed deeper roots than that. For one thing, we can see he knew which side of Balto's family was lupine ("Hey, Balto. I've got a message for your mother.") . That alone points to some background, some history between them.

I would suspect, in light of already-stated evidence, that it was a matter of canine racism. And the fact that Jenna was more receptive towards Balto than Steele probably added to it. There are few grudges so bitter that envy cannot make them worse.

Well, there's that and the implication of a past something between Steele and Jenna, and the fact Jenna is interested in only Balto now

I'm not sure there was ever any Steele and Jenna, just Steele and his delusional ego. Like Jenna said, Steele's all about himself.

One thing I think we can definitely agree on: there was nothing between them by the time the movie took place. Nothing, that is, but as much space as Jenna could put there.

If there wasn't anything between them at some time, then how else would Jenna be able to know for herself what he's really like from the "beginning"?

Before he lied to everyone, every girl dog in Nome was in love with him, except for Jenna. He obviously didn't "date" all of them, he was only interested in Jenna. I seriously doubt it was because she was the "only one" with sense in her, because that's Sue-ish and illogical.

She must have known from personal experience of being with him. Think about it, every stereotypical "popular girl" has dated her fair share of "Steeles" in her life. She goes for the biggest, macho-est, "jerkiest" (lawl) male she can find (this isn't saying that she's one of those "popular girls" who make fun of everyone uglier than her or anything).

That is until she grows up and matures, and then realizes that is not what she wants in life. She wants a "Balto" as it were. In this movie, Jenna was not a young dog. She was all grown up and mature and actually seemed like at first she wasn't even interested in finding a guy (which is also common for "woman" at her apparent age.) Not saying FOR SURE IT HAPPENED, but its definitely possible.

I've dated people who seemed very nice to be with at first. I'd known them for a while and they were great, up until I started dating them, because once you start dating someone, whether you want to believe it or not, things change. Attitude changes, habits change, and other things about their personality are revealed that you didn't even know about.

I think Jenna fawned over him just like every other girl dog at some point, when she was young and didn't know any better. Then once she "dated" him or whatever, I don't believe dogs actually "date", she realizes what a "jerk" he is and dumps him. Or maybe he dumped her then wanted her back, I dunno. Either/or its totally possible.

cat, it's called acting. She did what she did to get him to move back. Besides, you know the old saying, "once burned, twice shy." Well, it hardly makes sense that Jenna would be willing to touch Steele, for any reason, if she had gotten figuratively burned in a previous relationship with him. I know personally that if I were in a situation to fake attraction to a girl (like in a movie or something), I'd be far more reluctant to do it if the girl involved was an ex-girlfriend with whom I'd had a bad relationship. And I know I don't fully grasp how women think, generically or individually, but I do know some things are fairly standard. Heck, my last girlfriend won't even add me on Facebook, and I never did anything wrong to her; she was the one who used to chase after other guys right in front of me. So if Jenna had been in a relationship with Steele before and he had been a total jerk to her, why would she have been willing to get that close to him, even if it meant the chance to fry his backside?

Acting, a likely excuse xD You're not too far off about not wanting to touch or even be near an ex with whom you've had a bad relationship with. No matter /what/ your plans are, its just not a good idea. Even if she knew he was going to back up into the furnace, I still don't think she'd be willing to touch him if she hadn't been previously attracted to him. I mean in the beginning she friggen /winced/ when he suddenly stepped closer to her (when he said "I know where all the bones are buried") There was a micro-expression of fear in that instance.

Right, she obviously wasn't too keen on being anywhere near him. So when she pulled it in the furnace room, it had to be a facade. She was doing it to teach him a lesson. It's as clear as water.

Anyway, we're losing track of topic. The question is who should go out with Steele, not who might have done so and regretted it?
