Ohhh, good luck with the try-outs! Shredder, hmm, it sounds cool, but if it was me, I'd try to think of something maybe a lil more, but basically, yeah, its a pretty cool name.

Within a band called Alliance Of Darkness. Newly made band, only been going for a few months now and just about ready to do our first recording. A.O.D is based between rock and pop, likely more of a soft rock than anything else. Alliance Of Darkness AKA A.O.D are a small band who would like to complete one dream which all the other band would like to complete. This is one day to make it big!! We do have a Myspace area which is under work at the moment but if you are interested in the making of A.O.D and would like to listen to some stuff(Once recorded) and learn more then feel free to PM me about it and I will send you the link until further notice that is the only way to see.

Band has full members with 3 singers,2 Females and a male, Lead guitarist and a guitarist. We have a drummer and bass player along with our keyboard player. I am one of the 3 singers in A.O.D.

Hehe sounds cool, when I used ot play in my old punk band I never bothered with picks, they always got lost or nicked and could never be bothered to buy more. As we were a punk band I developed quite a fast plucking rythm with my two fingers to keep up with the tempo so that was fine, although a bit of a strain at first :P

Cool guys! Uhhh, yeah I always destroy my picks, like it will snap in half or I'll wear it down to nothing and people will be like: "What the heck did you do to it?!" haha

That pick I was using was only 0.71 mm thick. Plus, it had already seen more than a year's worth of use, having been used by my brother with his guitar. I know for sure to look into thicker, heavy duty picks.
I'm also due for new bass strings, and I'm still not sure exactly what to get. I don't even know what my current (and original) set of strings are. I know that there's a lot of criteria involved, but I'm still not certain what type of strings to get. In a recent issue of Guitar World magazine that my brother purchased, there was an article on bass string selection. It was of some help, but I still didn't get a clear answer. I know my band plays mostly rock/metal with some thrash influence, but I play anything from contemporary country to what my band plays. My lowest-pitched string is already showing some wear, as it is the most heavily used string on my bass. I play a 4-string, so that should narrow it down. Is there anyone here who can be of some assistance :?:

I use Ernie Ball Super Slinkys on my Geddy Lee Signature Bass and I LOVE them! I have never had a hitch with Ernie Ball strings..

I almost had a a band a few years ago when I was in Michigan for college, we had a name and plan and everything. We were going to be like Korn but less grundgy and I was gonna sing...but it never worked out, I moved back home and my friend went to australlia or something..haven't heard from him in a long time..

But now, me and a co worker are trying to get something together but it might be awhile..he may play bass or drums depending on who he finds then another co worker is playing guitar. I will be the vocalist..

Our influences range quite a bit but its mosty rock/metal/punk. The bass/drummers main influence is offspring among others. The guitarists likes metallica and other old school metal. I have alot of influences too but Ill name some main ones; Scott Stapp(Creed) Jon Micah(Kutless), Amy Lee(Evanescence), Phil Collins and a bit more But we all like a whole bunch of stuff so its going to be interesting..
