Despite the musicals, Balto 2 got my vote since it ends on a more heartwarming note.

Wings of change. The animation in wolf quest is horrible. They did a much better job quality-wise I think in WoC.

I vote Wolf Quest. It has a deeper story and probably has some of the best characters in any of the two sequels combined (Aleu included).

Well, the question of which characters, of the two sequels, is up to personal choice. But the story in Balto 2 is based upon Native Alaskan mysticism, which has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with wolves (beyond the Native Alaskan legends and myths) or sled dogs. The story in Balto 3 has to do with an historically-accurate dramatization of the gradual changeover from sled dog teams to airplanes as mail carriers. From where I am standing, there is absolutely no question as to which of the two stories is not only deeper, but has greater meaning and value.

In Wolf Quest, we get a better view of Balto's heritage whereas Wings of Change abandoned that altogether. They still acknowledge he's part wolf, but we have no further knowledge of his wolf side.

And you feel they needed to keep rehashing that concept in every one of the Balto movies becaaaaauuuussse...?Ever heard of beating something to death? Yeah...that's what that would have been...beating a story concept to freakin' death. And that would have turned most of the fans OFF. The Balto story, in its most basic form, ISN'T about wolves and the divided heritage of a fictional version of Balto. It's about dog sledding, about the serum run to help combat the diphtheria epidemic (more or less, with questionable historical accuracy), and about character interaction between the dogs and other animals. The wolf angle is a subplot at best, and not terribly important overall to the franchise.

everyone hates wolf quest, when i find it beautiful , mystical, and awesome. the plot was good, the characters were good, it was perfact:) wings of change was ok, but it seems to go to fast, and the plot seemed a bit rushed.

hey yay, Wolf Quest is actually winning! ^^ with all the hate seemingly spread around about it I thought that Wings of Change would be the steretypical choice here
but my pick is Wolf Quest as well it has a much better constructed and more fascinating plot than Wings of Change does, it is unique and offers a lot more about returning characters than the first Balto did, whereas Wings of Change is basically just like watching the first Balto again really
Praise for father sun and sister moon!
