Bandit put his paw on Zero's shoulder.

"You were lucky to have a mate like her," He said. He sat down near Kali. I'd never have been as good a mate as you were to her," He added. He hung his head down and he had to blurt out something.

"I think Elsie might be dead," He sobbed. "Why me? What have I done to deserve this horrid life!" Bandit whacked his head on the floor.

Bandit looked at Kali one last time. H went over to Zero.

"I don't know why I'm saying this, but I remember my mother telling me that when my father died that he lived inside me," Bandit said.

"I'm sorry, Z," Bandit said. He started walking.

"I'll be right back!" Bandit zoomed through the forest until he bumped into...

"Elsie!" Bandit panted.

"Bandit?" Elsie asked. Bandit nodded. Elsie leaped into Bandit and started crying tears of happiness.

"Bandit, I never asked. Who's your mate, Kali?" Elsie asked. Bandit frowned.

"I'll tell ya everything. A couple of years ago, Chase dumped Kali, so Zero became her boyfriend and they mated and had pups and Kali died then she came back to life and she's just died again, and now everythings up to Bandit the fix-it dog!" He panted.

"So what you're saying is..."

"I never had a mate!" He concluded.

"Me neither," Elsie said.

"I'll do the rest later, but first, I need you to come with me to the place where Kali died. They set off.
