Carmen coaxed the two out of the car. "C'mon, it's 2 in the morning, haven't got that much time before we all end up falling asleep outside."

"Can someone let me out now?" Ellis whined from inside the trunk.

Kyler nodded and hoisted herself off of Damien's lap, then stood up on wobbly legs outside the car. She was still in a sleepy daze, so she just felt like saying, "Damien, your lap is really comfy."

Another bang could be heard from the inside of the trunk, and then a small, disconnected branch came out of nowhere and whipped the back of Dymitri's head. "Now." Ellis growled.

Kyler stretched out her arms and smiled at Damien, scratching the back of her head.

"Let me out!" Ellis snarled, holding the branch up behind Dymitri's head threateningly.

"I had nothing to do with it." Carmen smirked. "Just let him out first before he gives himself a heart attack."

Ellis angrily crawled out of the trunk and, halfway out, snarled at Dymitri, "I'm going to kill you!"

Ellis smirked, pulled a keychain flashlight out of his pocket, then turned it on and shined it directly in Dymitri's eyes.

Ellis dropped the flashlight and tried to pry off the rings around his neck, feeling the air leave his lungs quickly. Growling and choking, he managed to control a vine to wrap around Dymitri's ankles and trip his attacker.

Ellis gripped his throat and greedily breathed in the fresh air, not noticing Dymitri had gone down.
