Aniu Caelestis wrote: The black and gray hybrid paced a little back and forth, only half listening at first as Max began speaking. But when he had asked about how long she would be away, her tone alerted him to the dismay he felt. Her icy blue hues darted from the ground to his face suddenly and she studied it for a moment. "Not too terribly long. I don't think I could bring myself to really stay away much longer than a week or two at most. I doubt I'd even be able to survive that long." She sighed lightly, reminded of just how attached she'd become to Nome recently. How would she keep herself from going crazy if she were to leave?
"I don't really want to leave, that's actually the last thing I want to do. But I can't see any way of solving this whole love triangle business if I don't try and put some space between us. I mean, Slyth did just ask Saba to be his mate," her lip trembled a little as she said this, but she managed to keep speaking without faltering again, "It doesn't help that he likes me too, and that Saba is his sister. Balto and Jenna certainly wouldn't approve, but what would they think of me if I made their daughter unhappy?" Her mind travelled again back to Saba's venture into the forest, but she shook it away fervently. "Not to mention Saba's my friend too. What kind of a friend would I be to stab her in the back like that?"
With a sigh, she sat on the ground and looked away for a moment. "I just don't see any other way to try and make some sense out of all of this. With every outcome, someone will be disappointed." She huffed and looked back up at him. "But what am I saying, I have no plausible way of leaving town without everyone getting frantic and worrying about me. There aren't any races coming up that I know of. I could try and find a flyer for one, but Gunner might not want to go on such late notice. Do you have any ideas on how I can pull this off without everyone freaking out?"
But just after she'd said this, a young child came running up the alleyway, screaming like a banshee. It tripped over a small branch protruding from the snow and fell to its knees, sobbing even harder. Pity overwhelmed the husky mix, and without thinking, the dog in her led her to the child, gently placing her muzzle beneath its face. She nudged it gently and licked its salty cheek, trying to dry the tears. (( quoting Aniu's last post, then. Back to RP ))

The brute sighed once more as he listened to the fae's comments as she explained her main problem, which Max had figured most of it already at this point. He felt useless as he couldn't help anything at this point. His brother, Blitz and Saba were caught in this little problem that seem to not have a end and all Max could do is watch it tare everyone apart. He wanted things to get better, but he honestly thought Blitz leaving was going to cause something else to spring loose and cause more pain to someone, or more. At the same time he didn't want to see her in as much confusion and stress as she seemed to be in and somewhat wanted to help her get away for a while. Max sat himself down and thought to himself. He had saw a poster for some type of race back in town not to long ago. "The humans talked about a race the other day..", he commented as the feeling that he was doing the wrong thing, "They seemed really happy about the thing they called a reward. Something about it being a seasonal race that gave big bucks?", he remembered at the time he had no idea what a living thing would want a load of bucks unless its a humans favorite food (Since he doesn't know what money is he thinks its deer! ) The brute then continued, "I'm not sure if your musher will go for it, but it might be a chance?", sighing once more before noticing the little kid who had came crying. After watching Blitz walk up towards the kid he soon followed up. He thought maybe Blitz had not heard him and quickly changed the subject. "Is the kid alright?", he said as he looked around to see if the mother or father human was around for the kid. He planted himself next to the kid as well, looking down towards them for time to time as he waited for her response.

I'm still here too. Seems Saba doesn't need to make an entrace right at the moment, however.

"You look lost" the female dog said, giving Slyth a concerned look. "You from around here?"
Slyth didn't know how to respond to this. He was about to ask the same exact question. He'd lived here his whole life and had never ran into this dog. He'd recognize her if they'ed ever met before. Her body was lithe and thin with strong legs. She built for running. Slyth could tell because his brother Kodi was built the same way. He'd also seen the sled team often enough to notice they all seemed to be built the same way. Apart from the one they called Ralph.
"Umm. . ." Slyth let out, trying to give himself time to think of something to say, but before he got anything else out, she was holding him by the muzzle. One paw above his nose, the other under his chin. Slyth jumped and tried to pull out of her grip but she held on. Giving her a curious look, he shook his head trying again to get out of her grip. He felt her let go of his muzzle, but a split second later he found himself on his back in the snow. The female dog standing over him.
"Yea, you're not from around here." She said looking down on him, a blank look on her face.
