PLEASE rate by graphic quality rather than personal preferences. ^^" 'Too small' can be a valid reason to take off points in a situation in which, perhaps, the small size resulted in an unclear or low-quality image that's hard to see. But just because you personally don't like the small size doesn't really give me (or anyone) any advice to work with next time. ^^"

Anyways, 8/10 for reasons stated previously.

I'll rate as this game was meant to be rated, thank you. And that was by graphic quality - I prefer larger images, because the larger an image is, the more detail can be carved into it. Likewise, the smaller an image is, the less in-depth it is, and the more believable it seems.

I saw this thread as a game--not a constructive criticism topic. If it should be the latter, then I guess I was mistaken after all.

All-in-all, I'm not here to ask others to change or modify their avatars; or to criticize them. I'm here to have fun. If that's not wanted, then I'll remove myself from this thread.

8/10. Same reasons as before.

9.5/10 I really love the color scheme and details. Only thing that bothers me is the two black lines on the top and bottom xD

@Natti: I also think size plays a large role. Though I can see where you're coming from, sometimes when an avatar is too small or too large, it can run the overall feel of it (for example). I personally like avatars medium-sized (as you may see from my own) so there is plenty of room for details. I find it harder to make smaller avatars look nice, because it cuts out many of those details. Just my thoughts though.

xD Gawd, so much hatred for Van! Hunter, those two black lines are borders, and it's a style of avatar where neither the right nor left side has a border, but the top and bottom have two-inch borders to compensate.

Anyway, 9/10 fur da awesome avi.

Lol I know, I've seen the style. I just don't prefer it as all. ;3

I really shouldn't be delving into this can of worms, but personally I agree with Natti. I like a good critique on my graphics, and if someone sees room for improvement, I at least consider it. But personal preference isn't critiquing. Even though I don't like big avies, I don't dock points just because of that. It's ridiculous to rate something lower because you don't like a size or the subject of the graphic. I rate care and quality. What looks good, what could look better by doing what. Graphics can look just as good big as they can small.

Granted the rules don't tell us that you can or cannot rate an avie as a critique or with or without personal preferences, but I find this topic as an opportunity as a graphic artist to better myself. Not just to have fun. And yes, I do find critiquing and being critiqued as fun.

But anyway:

-

10/10
Good centering and colors, and I like the border. 8]

^That. Roi said it better than I can. XD

Anyways...

10/10

Very nice composition and the focal point is very clear with those deep blues in the background. Also gotta love the subtle, but present border. :)

While that very well may be true, not everyone on this topic is a graphics artist... But, I digress.

9/10 I like the clarity of it, but the small spaces between the character on the far left and the border seem to be off to me. The background also seems a bit too bright, but that might just be me.
