its fine everyone is entitled to their own opinions even though some should be kept to themselves(that was NOT directed to you F-As-Balto) but forget it im not getting involved anymore

Well age got nothing to do with being a good moderator. I think you actually have to "earn" that title doing the years. But if the Administrator wants to hire "new" people to keep the forum clean, then he must also suffer the consequences of some of their mistaken actions. I see one of Ac´s old topic just got wiped off the face of the earth. Dude the man is showing HIS merchandise.. Its his PASSION to get as much rare Balto items, and then some moderator just deletes the first post, because its old ?
I cant really blame the moderator. Where is the communication between the Admin & his staff ?
And what about the disappearing art galleries ?

I know you need help with your website, and i know its hard selecting the right team members, but clearly: this is not the solution. If you dont straighten things out with the new staff, more people will wander off your site. You must help & guide the newest staff members the first few days, so they dont do anything wrong.

I'd be glad to help, if there is any needed now. I know what kind of messages need to be deleted and the rules for doing this job. I am not that kind of person that leaves these things unnoticed.

I know I'd be very upset if people started judging me on what I did the first day Steet made me a mod, we should wait a couple of weeks and just see how things turn out, Ok, a really good, informative topic was lost but I'm afraid accidents do happen and nothing is stopping Ac from making a new topic on it if he wants to since his last one was accidently lost.

I wasn't talking about ya'lls argument, it was something Mixer said. Here's what he/she said about me. It was rude.

Like i said: I cant really blame the moderator for doing it. Steet should have give you proper information in the first place.

And NEVER come up with excuses like: I was in a hurry, my parents and stuff like that. It shows signs of weakness & people will loose respect in you. And is that valid information to other people ? Nah

Steet made a Petition to Recruit mods to protect the integrity of the site, thats a respectfull idea.

but i think that what caused discontent here is that the applicants were all new people to the forum, people who havent still socialiazed with the bsource people long enough to know how they would act as authorities.

I suggest a cease of fire in this conflict because.. there is a possibility out of this decision:

1.- EVen if the new Mods are new to the forums, they could have excelent morals and logical sense to apply for the job. Longevity is really important for the experience of the mod with the others.. and also for the people to know them better.. also i think some maturity is needed for this kind of jobs.. but like i said.. any people with the common sense and enough patience could be really good for this job.

So i think the best actions is just to remain patient and evaluate the work of the new moderators.. and DO NOT jump quickly to conclussions.. remember YOU all were also new here, so dont take quick charts just because of a mistake or two... although.. it would be cool to have the old responsible moderators.. anyways fellas.. time will tell

Yes, a cease fire sounds good although this was for site/forum cleaners, not mods, a cleaner only deletes old, useless or badly written topics nothing else, Steet said that on the first/main topic post and when he announced who were the cleaners.

Sorry, don't mean to be a bother but I think having all the 'cleaners' names in green the same as mods might generate quite a lot of confusion, people don't always pay attention and may not see the 'click here to contact a mod' link at the top of the pages and people could PM cleaners with problems and such, is there any way to seperate the two or not?

I'm not sure how this BB system works, not even sure what system is being used here.... oh wait it's on the bottom... yep ok PHPBB yeah I'm pretty farmiliar with this one, but what I would do is assign a whole new admin position for the "cleaners" and from there you could assign whatever rights you would like them to have and change the text color, as you were mentioning UK.

First, I wanted to say that I've NEVER asked for MODS in this topic, but for CLEANERS and I've clearly given the definition. That's not the same thing at all.
But most of you don't seem to understand this. The problem is that PHPBB doesn't allow to make specific permissions to groups, so it's either : mod or not mod. The problem is there. So, considering the few problems that occured, they were MY fault, my mistake, but I will rollback and remove the forum cleaners group. Sorry for people who wanted to be one.

Although, site cleaners will stay. It's not exactly the same thing, because there, the only thing they can do is remove messages, which is the goal.

Then, Togo, that's the LAST time that I warned you. Stop saying that "they are n00bs and they won't do the job fine, that I'm crazy for making such decisions", and more important, stop sending hateful messages to some of the new members. This attitude CAN'T be allowed from a mod, I'm sorry.
I know that you are right on some points, but this has gone too far.
I will remove your moderation power temporarily; I hope it will let you reconsider and stop with this terrible attitude you're giving in. Where has gone the old Togo, the good mod and member?...

Wow what happend, this topic was all nice and calm, the next it's all in chaos, all Steet asked was for some extra help, and this fighting I am sure was not part of the plan, I feel bad Steet, all you asked for basicly was for some help, and it turned into a fight, sorry things got out of controll.


Was there a reason for all of this fight to break out? couldn't it have been settled like people? not wild animals? there was no need for this fighting, I think we all ow Steet an apology.

It's odd things can go from nice to fight in a few days of being gone.
