Obbler stood up and shook his mane. His enemies were gone. There should be no need to worry over their threats.

He turned to his mate and followers.
'We will celebrate!' he said, triumph in his voice. 'I need some volunteers to go hunt prey for tonight's feast...'

'I'll go!' said Romy, stepping forward.
'No,' said Obbler, concerned. 'You look tired, dearest daughter, I think hunting is not for you to do this evening. You can look after the cubs, when we get back to our camp, if you like. Perhaps Kelly will help you.'

Kudan spun round when he heard Neyjaki's voice.

He growled at the other lion.' Why did you follow us? Are you a spy from our enemy's pride?' Kudan said, angerily.

Meanwhile, Jafiya was wandering through the twisted plants of the small jungle. 'You can hardly move in here,' he muttered to Rosie.

A sudden wind came.

Rosie nodded concerned for her leader. "Sir....your right. I can hardly see!"

Kelly nodded to her leader. "Of course sir."

Obbler smiled. 'Let's get home then.'


He led his lions all the way to their camp. Romy went into a hollow, where a lioness was looking after Sula and the other Pride cubs.

'Hello, Mirandina,' said Romy to the lioness, who looked up and grinned cheerfully.

Lindsay lay down sadly hoping that no one would notice she had been crying. She looked to Sula, then Romy and sighed. She sat up and walked towards Romy, Kelly and Miranda slowly. "Hello you three." She said bravely, she smiled slightly.

Kelly didnt bother looking up. She just lifted a paw and waved. "Hello miss, Lindsay wasnt it?" She asked looking at her with her sky blue eyes.

Romy noted Lindsey's tear-stained face. 'Hi, Lin,' she said. 'Is there something wrong?' she added in a whisper.

Mirandina, who was a yearling with very coarse, ginger-yellow fur, greeted all three lionesses. She then licked Sula and the other cubs in turn, before bounding off. But before disappearing completely, she paused at the top of the hollow.

'So glad you could come and take over the cubbies!' she called over her shoulder in a cheeky voice. 'Just going to have a bite of the feast that's being planned.'

'Away with you!' Romy said to her, good-humouredly.

Lindsay forced a little smile. "No Romes... I'm okay thanks."
Kelly smiled lightly then looked to them

The cubs were asleep. Romy lay down next-to them and looked up at Lindsey. 'If you're sure you're okay...' Romy smiled sympathetically.

Meanwhile, Staniel was running up to his mate Francine.
'I scented some strangers nearby!' he said. 'Do you know that horrible, smelly place...?'

Francine nodded "yes honey I do!" She nuzzled Jot and looked to him.

Lindsay nodded "I just kinda miss mum and dad but besides that.... I'm fine thanks," she smiled nosing her friends playfully. Kelly smiled "I missed my pride.."

A thin, lioness with a gaunt face and narrow eyes walked smoothly into the cave where Lindsay a the other lionesses were watching Sula.

She stood infront of the the little cub and raised an eye-brow, then when the Sula stood up to meet her new visitor, the lioness pushed her back down.
"Kind of weak, isn't it?" she commented, rather rudely.

Kelly looked up "a bit rude aren't you?" She replied sitting down. Lindsay nodded.

The gaunt lioness's head flicked round, she stared at Rosie, eyes narrower then ever.
"Trying to be clever are we, Missy?" she said, her eyes blazing now."I know more about these squiggles (she pointed a claw to Sula), then you know about humans."

Ma,am." Kelly addressed. "These cubs are lovely when you get to know them... Look after them and see..." She sighed. "Obbler wouldn't like you treated those cubs like that would he now?" She added lying down.

"I know 'em cubbies," said the skinny lioness, spitting onto the hard floor."You are reminding me of their parents. When the cubs first came here they smelt to the sky of that Jet and Jafiya."

I understand miss but raise them to hate Jafiya and jet?" She said feeling guilty
