I ran quickly but quietly towards the pasture. The big percheron drafts were still standing at the gate from when I had been riding Hawk earlier today. Raven seemed to know that I wanted to ride her tonight, and was standing closest to the gate. "Hi Raven, girl. Do you want to run?" I asked, stroking her soft nose. She nickered happily and pawed the ground. When I opened the gate, they all looked at me. Quickly, I slipped the bridle on Raven's head and led her out of the pasture. I hoped the other drafts wouldn't make too much noise and wake my mom.

Ryan kicked Titanic's sides gently, getting the big horse to walk slowly out of the barn. His hooves clacked against the wood but became silent as he stepped onto the grass. The full moon shining high just above the tree line provided enough light to see, making the tree's on the other side of the property look totally black. That always used to scare Ryan but it didn't anymore.

I smiled when I saw Ryan ride out on Titanic. He looked handsome up there on his big horse. Then I led Raven back over to the gate using it as a step to help get on the horse. Smiling big, I rode Raven over towards Ryan, ready to ride. I had been looking forward to this all day.

Ryan smiled, she looked beautiful. "Good evening ma'dam, may I say you look stunning." He said and grinned, sitting up straight and pretending to be a rich gentleman just for the kicks. He smiled at her again.

I blushed, and was glad it was dark out so Ryan couldn't tell that I was bright red. "Why, Thank you, kind sir." I said, giggling. "So where will we be riding tonight?" I asked, riding a full circle around Ryan and Titanic. I wanted to bring up the topic of Claire. She obviosly liked Ryan, which botherd me a little. Maybe if we rode past her cabin and her windows were open I would bring it up. Maybe not, I don't want to be mean, but then again, I do. Why was I so jealous? It wasn't like me...

Ryan smiled at her. "Hm, the beach?" He asked, he'd only take her somewhere she'd want to go and if she didn't want to go to the beach than he wasn't going to make her. Ryan's smile deepened as Titanic nickered at Raven, flipping his mane over to one side. Show off Ryan thought.

"Sounds fun. Lets get riding, its a ways." I said, stopping Raven next to Titanic. Through the field and woods to the beach was a long ride, but she would do it for Ryan. Raven had only been to the beach once and she had loved it. I gently kicked Raven's sides and troted off into the field and towards the woods. "Lets go Ryan!" I shouted, kicking Raven's sides again, and galloping away.

Ryan nodded, kicking Titanic's sides. He was a couple feet behind her a catching up fast. Ryan kicked harder, making Titanic gallop along side Raven so he could see Blaine better. Since she knew the trail best, he'd just let her guide them through the woods and field.

I slowed Raven up to a walking pace since we would probably be running along the shore when we got there. I smiled, Not a worry in the world right now. I was having a blast already, just riding one of my favorite horses, and being with Ryan. I hoped that I could trust Jacklyn and Morgan to not tell mom in the morning that I was gone all night.

Ryan slowed Titanic down too. He looked over at Blaine, "So tell me about yourself." He said, relaxing as Titanic did too. Ryan smoothed his hair back again and blinked once or twice. He was the type who could hold up a good conversation.

"Well, I guess people at school consider me an outcast, but all the preps absolutley hate country girls." I began, rolling my eyes. The preps at my school had to be the worst. "My friend who lives in town is friends with the 'Queen Bee' and is like my little spy. So if you hate them, they hate you back. Harder. It's so ridiculous." I could go on and on about it but decided to talk about somthing other than school. "Well I started riding horses when I was five. Bull was my first horse, the oldest one out in the pasture. He's very gentle if you haven't noticed, and I love him to death." I had to start holding in tears because everytime I thought about Bull, the haunting memory of our accident comes back.

Ryan grinned, "Your still in school?" He asked, he had graduated and was taking college courses over the internet. He looked at her as she kept talking and nodded, "I had a horse before Titanic. He was my first horse, his name was Zorro. Me and him used to do everything and I loved him a lot too. Until he developed collic from eating sand, and he died that night." He said, he didn't cry. Looking down, Ryan thought about Zorro. Soon his eyes played tricks on him and made him believe he was actually on the black friesian. Ryan shook his head and looked back at Blaine. "So if you could go one place in the world, where would it be?"

"Yeah. This is my last year till graduation." I explained, speeding Raven up to a trot. "I would go to Mexico, to tan and swim in the ocean." Once Ryan had told me about his old horse, I wasn't afraid to tell him about Bull's accidnt. "Ryan, I know how you feel. Morgan does for sure." I began. "You see, Bull didn't just get old and have to be retired, We got in a little accident. There was a boy in 8th grade, Kalvin. He just took my heart and threw it infront of a bus." I went on, "I went for a ride on Bull and lost control, and when he stumbled, he crashed into of the hurdles we were jumping. All because I was thinking about that stupid boy!" I started to feel angry, but took deep breaths to try and stay calm.
