She gave a slight chuckle and followed him. They made for the southern territory. They hunted till the sun began to set. Sauda had never felt so close to anyone in her whole life.

Sauda dragged the wildebeest. She couldn't help remember how they had caught it without even making a plan. They had just got to their positions, and attacked. Usually, hunting made her feel bored. But, this hunt was the best she could ever ask for. No, nothing is worth more than this friendship.she thought. She had never felt so close with anyone before. She had a feeling that their friendship would last a lifetime. If only Chaka trusted him.she wished.

Sauda felt her face getting hot. "It was nothing." she said quickly. "The gazelle was still a calf, not a big deal." Kovu walked towards them. He eyed the prey and raised his eyebrows at Alonzo and Sauda. "I see you two had a good hunt." he said. Sauda nodded. "Totally. You should have seen Alonzo. The way he brought down the wildebeest with a neck bit was great. I was only hanging on to its back."

She playfully flicked her tail at him. She turned to Kovu. "Dad, can we rest now?" she asked. Kovu nodded. "You two have done well. Take the wildebeest to the food pile and you can have the gazelle for your own."

Sauda tore into the gazelle, thinking of something to say. She turned to Alonzo, ignoring the furious look from Chaka. "So, what's your father like?" she asked.

"I'm guessing he was a big supporter of Scar and Zira." Sauda said, chewing a piece of the meat.

"What's wrong?" Sauda asked, sitting up.

Sauda pricked up his ears. She stood up and sat beside him. "You aren't a monster." she said calmly. "If you were, you would have killed me the first time we met. But you didn't. As for Chaka..." she lowered her voice. "he's just overreacting because he always has trust issues."
