"I'm pretty sure 'hungry' covers it all," Laika laughed. She stuck out her tongue teasingly.
Kiera's eyes widened fractionally. "I'm going to go for a walk," she said suddenly, standing up. It wasn't that she didn't feel the smae, in fact, it was the opposite. But she didn't know how to react, not with her shy personality. She had rarely ever talked to other male dogs, much less flirted, or had a conversation....like the one she could've started with Connor. The cool air refreshed her though, and helped clear her mind somewhat.
"No, I never got the chance," Cato said slowly.

Connor slammed his forehead into the ground. Stupid! he thought.Why did you say that? I looked enogh like a loony already. Forget talking, shes not even gonna look at me... He went over to the wall of the cave and slammed his head into it before slinking away to a corner, trying to pull himself together.
Dan pretended to think."Hm, you might have a point there..."he joked
Sara sighed calmly."Well at least you got some friends now."she said in what she hoped was a comfoting tone.

Kiera padded towards the fringe of trees that marked the edge of the forets, padding alongside the thick trunks. The exercise helped clear her mind further, and she began to rewind her memories to the first moment where they began talking.
Laika nodded. "I knew I did," she said, still grinning.
Cato nodded. "I guess I do."

Connor continiued to drown in self-pity as he tried to understand exactly happened.`Caught in the moment`wasnt so far off. Then again, why did he get caught in that moment. Where did those sudden feelings come from? Stress from the previous day? No...
Dan laughed and pushed her shoulder jokingly with his paw.
"Then why do you act so grumpy all the time?" Sara asked carefully.

Cato shrugged. "I'm not sure...I guess some of my father wore off on me."
Laika nudged him back, laughing softly. "Come on, you have to admit I'm right," she teased.
Kiera sighed. She did have some feelings for him as well. But her shy nature refused to allow her to pursue them. Honestly, she wasn't sure why she had been so impulsive in the first place. It was completely out of character for her. All she knew was there was no going back. She could move forward, or stay in the same awkward phase as she was in now. Another sigh escpaed her. This stuff was harder than it sounded.

Sara looked at him for a while before speaking."Dont you want to change that?"She said quietly.
Connor closed his eyes, trying to remember anything his mother might have said that could help him. Nothing came to mind. After his fathers death, they never really talked about that subject. They just focused on the day at hand. Trying to live without worries. Heh.He thought.Like that helped me any

"I'm not sure about that.." Laika said teasingly, enjoying the small banter between them.
Cato looked up, obviously startled. "How could I change?" he asked.
Kiera shivered as she felt the temerature dropping, the sky growing darker in either a sign of nightfall, or a snow storm. Either way, she figured it would be best to get back. She began trekking back up to the small cave they had taken refuge in.

Dan lifted an eyebrow."Oh really? Remind who it was that just wolfed down the last morsels of food like they hadnt eaten in a week?"he teased.
Sara thought about it for a moment."Well, I think it would help if you opened yourself up a bit."She said."Its impossible for others to aproach you when your so closed up"
"I cant let this happen" Danny said to himself."I have to fix this." He got up and ran to find Kiera.

"Listen...Sara," Cato said, the polite tone in his voice now forced. "I can't just change overnight. Ecspecially not my personality. Look, I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I can't change." He had to struggle not to snarl the words, as the small voice in his mind strongly suggested him to do.
Laika smile turned to an icy glare. "Maybe I shouldn't talk to you then, if you think you can insult me." She turned her head away. After holding that for a few seconds, she turned back, laughing, a teasing glint back in her eye. "Got ya'!" she laughed.

Connor found Kiera on her way back in. He stopped in front of her and looked at the ground."Look, im sorry I put you off like that. I didnt mean to embarras you and what I did was stupid, I should know better." He struggled to not talk too fast or too loud in his panick to apollogize.
Dan panicked at first. His mind raced as he tried to mumble an excuse. But when he saw her laugh, relief hit like a pillow to the face, and he laughed with her. "Yeah, you got me" he said between laughs.
Sara got calmly on her feet."Im not trying to tell you what to do with your life, its your choice who you want to be."She started walking to her spot next to the sleeping Grant."Just think about it, ok? Youre a good dog."
