"Okay, thanks," said the receptionist. She scanned in the sheets as Ilac shook Eevee awake. "Wait--you're Ilac? The champion of the Kanto/Johto Elite Four? It's great to meet you, sir! You'll be entry four, in the Hyper Rank Beauty Contest?" When Ilac nodded, she said, "The contest starts in half an hour, feel free to use the Pokeblock machines in the corner." Ilac nodded and said, "Thanks, ma'am. And be sure to spread the word." He walked over to the bench and sat.

"It's basically a block with a flavor that enhances one of your attributes," said Ilac. "There are five types of attributes that Pokeblocks enhance:Coolness, Beauty, Toughness, Smartness, and Cuteness. For each attribute, several Pokeblocks will work, but different types raise different amounts on each Pokemon. Also, each Attribute is a Contest type, with four ranks: Beginner, Super, Hyper, and Master. I am entering Caster in a Hyper Rank Beauty Contest."
