After the dogs were a fair distance away from the alley, Ranger stopped and turned to look at his friends.

Ranger scoffed.
"And again, I thought you were the one who didn't want to ever give up and accept defeat, Tally."
Ranger thought for a moment, then spoke.
"I know what we have to do."
Tucker looked up at Ranger.
"And what would that be, huh?"
"Ira said that some humans will be spared," Ranger stated. "He said that they are building something that will protect them from being destroyed. Does anyone remember where he said they were?"

Dakota was already padding towards where it had come frmo. "Hurry guys!" he said, sounding horrified.

Kali, having heard her friends voices, let out a scared bark. She was trapped under a fallen section of roof, only a few slants of dusty sunlight coming in from where the roof had fallen apart slightly.
"Kali!" Tally said, rushhing forward and sniffing the edges of the roof, trying to find a way in. "You okay?"
"I-I'm okay," Kali said shakily.

Tally inspected the roof, trying to see which piece would be safest to move.

Tucker discovered a smaller piece the dogs could easily slide out, considerably reducing the weight on top of Kali. With an excited yip, he called to his friends.
"Over here, let's take out this piece."
Ranger inspected the section of roofing quickly, then okayed it.
"Alright, I need every dog to help lift this section off. Should widen the hole a bit for her as well."

"Yeah! Pull!" Ranger screamed at them.
With the 5 dogs pulling at the wrecked piece of roofing, they dragged it off the pile of rubble, opening up a larger gap so that they could actually see Kali.
