Hm...I'm actually going to agree with Dingo.

If you read through every post made here, you will find that they seem to be repeating themselves:
Person says to ban it, person disagrees, someone gets flamed. (or other way around)

Steet has asked for our opinion and it seems that all we have done is flamed and made no improvements on the subject.

I think that its about high time that he says ''This is how its going to be'' and brushes off the annoying complaints that most members will make after the decision has been made.

Yes, Steet is an amazing webmaster, but asking for our opinions didn't help the subject and now he needs to make a final decision for us.

And right now he needs to make a final decision about this so this ridiculous war can end. In the hands of us members, it's not getting anywhere. It never has gone anywhere, and it never will go anywhere. We can't do anything to stop this, but he can.

Unfortunately, Snowdog00, while your intentions are noble, this is not a religious site, as has been said innumerable times all over it. You are not preaching to a congregation of believers in one faith, but to a collection of peoples of differing and divergent beliefs (or lack thereof). Debating of this topic must be based in secular logic, rather than religious law and dogma, if you want those who don't subscribe to your beliefs to treat you seriously.

I do agree with you, but I would advise against using a religious argument. The only way such an argument would work, in a limited fashion, would be if you reworded it to say something along the lines of "I am a Christian, and I believe this material is not right for this site because my beliefs teach me 'such-and-such', and the book of our faith gives such examples. That is why I think they should be banned and removed." Something like that is not out of the realm of fair posting and the scope of the rules.

Well, here it is.

1- Making another site is out of the question. I know I said that it could be a possibility, but then I have thought about it again, and another site to create AND to maintain, only for that, it's simply not possible.
2- Whatever decision is taken, the debate will never end because we all have different opinions about this. So there will always be people to complain.

So, my decision is :

* Any fanfic which contains deviant sexual content (homosexuality, zoophilia, incest...), will have to be rated R for Restricted. I will ask the mods to change all these fanfics to R rating.

* No fanfic sent on the site should contain any descriptive sex scene (deviant or not), and this will stay the same with R rated ones.

* I will add a more persuasive page instead of a pop-up warning, with buttons to confirm the choice to read the fanfic.

* I will also filter the fanfics, so that only registered members can see the R fanfics.

* I will ask for age at registration. The members who have specified on their accounts that they are less than 18 years old will not be able to see them at all either. For them, it will be as if they don't exist. (unless there are bugs - but that's the goal)


This will take some time to make all the necessary changes, so for now, everything stay the same, including the current rules.
