You know, folks? These things always bring out the "uglies" in people, and especially when one side assumes they are the victim of personal attacks and flames.

Now, however, I must tell you that it definitely HAS escalated that far. I signed on this morning, and awaiting me in my inbox was a PM from someone, whom I will permit to remain anonymous (he didn't in the PM obviously), who threatened me to back off of Brown Wolf, that he would "protect her to the ends of the earth" (his exact words, among others).

Firstly, no one ever made any flame attacks against Brown Wolf. However, you can see how this has been twisted around and turned into that by she and her friends. And now some of them have sunk to the level of threats issued by PM. Nice. I certainly have never done anything of the sort to them...and I cannot imagine Baltorocks, Lowin, Tibb, or anyone else has. And those of you who know me (or have seen my posts here) know that I do NOT respond to real or veiled threats...I don't care WHO issues them. And when I believe in an issue, or one I have raised myself, I stand by it until it is resolved.

It's time the senior moderators got involved in this. I have PMed each of them a copy of that other PM, and have issued ANOTHER formal complaint. It's time to STOP this before it gets any worse.

Do you see how things are done on Balto Source now? If we can't "shoosh" people into silence when they complain or raise concerns about something, and then quietly sweep it under the rug, then we get our friends together in quiet little corners, perhaps off Balto Source, and we plot and plan, and get them to either issue nicey-nicey (and empty) salutations to us, or to issue threats and warnings - either openly or by PM. And then we do what we can to make the person who has the issue or complaint look like the flamer and the bad guy/girl by getting our friends together to rally behind us and say how wonderful we are, and rely upon the "mob rules" philosophy. We assume that, just because we're a mod, people are going to believe US over the complainer unquestionably. (And almost every time, that's exactly what happens on this site.)

Is it EVER okay for a moderator and/or his or her friends to engage in such despicable behavior? And would that moderator disavowing any responsibility for it, or knowledge of it, make you say "gosh, that mod is so right! He/she wasn't responsible at all! You should let him/her be! Meanie!" What does it take to open your eyes, people? When are you going to hold the RIGHT people accountable, instead of someone with legitimate concerns and complaints, I wonder?

And you all think there's no problems with at least a portion of the staff and membership of Balto Source...

Say what you will about my sticking to this...but I wasn't the one who twisted this topic into a flame war, and I am not the one whose friends are now issuing threats in private. :x

"You know what, I feel that i've stared a flaim war, Maybe I should just ask a mod to lock this or not read other peoples comments"

Now that is a simlar comment I think Brown Wolf wanted me to write ^^ Now, in my mind, I cannot be asked to fight for this anymore, Brown Wolf and her 'bangwagon' following her, exactly what JC said, people follow moderators because they have the moderating 'rank' and 'power'. Well let me tell everyone this:

Just because you are a Moderator dose NOT mean I will follow you if I feel that what you are saying is wrong, i've stood up too many mods on other sites, (I've evan stood up too a webmaster once) Because I felt that his desission was wrong.

2 things:

1. Silly - Pointless - Anoying - Messages, in other words SPAM.

2. And what makes it look like? I haven't once said 'I think I will make a good Moderator' or 'Steet shgould choose me as a mod'. I actually voted for JerseyCaptain to be a moderator, so if your just going to say things like this, what is the point on posting in this forum topic.

This topic has done nothing but cause fights and it should be taken care of now. First off, JC, your comment about some of the mods not doing their jobs the way you see fit, doing their jobs the way you probably would was uncalled for and I had every right to defend myself and the mods you think are unworthy of the title. As for the pm you received... well, let's just say that there are some people who do not agree with the way you treat some of the mods on this site. They just want to be heard and they wanna make sure you treat people with respect and not act like a god mod half the time. Now, let's put this topic to rest right away. Things have already gotten out of hand as it is.
