"And how long would that take?" Kodi asked, concerned about how soon they could start heading toward home.
"Ouch!" Ralph yelled jumping out of the hole and running in a circle trying to see the damage.
Kirby stiffled a laugh. "You better watch where you sit next tine, Ralphy boy!"
"Lucky," Saba grumbled.
Rose smiled at her mom.

"Depends, I might have to put it back in place." said Fang. He watched Ralph run around after setting on a porcupine. "Well now you REALLY have something to complain about Ralph." he said and walked over to May. "Can you roll over on your side so I can check your shoulder?"
Dusty gasped. "Sorry Ralph, are you alright?"
"I know." said Miki.
Jenna smiled to Rose. "Don't worry, as long as we watch out and sniff around so we know if we're in a Grizzly's turf, we'll be fine."

Fang felt MAy's shoulder. "Its gotten a little loose." he said. He put his wieght on the shoulder and there was a pop, it would hurt a little but nearly as much as when he did it earlier. "That better?" he said.
Dusty chuckled. "Just lay down and I'll get them out."
"And if we do run into one, we just find a skunk and let it spray us." said Jenna with a laugh. "You and your siblings seem quite good at that." she said, remembering a time when all six pups had got sprayed at once.

"Do you think Steele and his team are back by now?" Kodi asked Balto.
May nodded. "Thanks, Fang." She nuzzled him. "How's Balto's leg?"
Ralph whimpered quietly as he did as Dusty asked.
Kirby sat beside Ralph. "You do know that porcuines are more like pin cushions than coush cushios, right?"
"Miki's fault," Rose said.

Dusty pulled a quil out fast.
"No, it was Saba's, she tackled me and we rolled into you and Dingo and into a bush which got a family of skunks mad." said Rosy.

"Not even close," Kirby said, making Ralph grimance.
"Don't blame it all on me," Saba said. "I didn't know there was a skunk in there!"

"Yeah, his leg must of hit a rock or something." said Fang. "It broke bad."
"Well knowing Steele, he got home." said Balto. "But how long did it take before humans started worrying about Duke when he crashed?"
Rosline, Sabaka, Miki! Stop arguing." said Jenna sternly, though overracting, she was very stressed.
"Mom relax we weren't argueing." said Miki.

Ralph covered his eyes with his paws. "Just hurry it up."
May sighed. "Why did he of all dogs have to get hurt the worst?"
"Yeah..." Kodi looked at the ground. "I guess we weren't much help either."
"Yeah, Mom," Saba said. "You alright? You seem really stressed out."
"Yeah," Rose added. "Don't worry. We'll find them. No big deal." As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Rose regretted them dearly.

"But you would never had been in danger if we had goen with you," Kodi said.

"Besides, we're gonna find them," Rose said confidently.

"For him, it'll be like we've risen from the den," May said with a giggle.
Ralph stood up and looked at his rear end. "As long as no one pushes someone on one," he said teasingly, looking pointedly at Dusty, "I think we'll be fine."
Kodi looked at the ground. "You make it sound so much more heroic than it was."
"Me too," Rose said, nuzzling her mom. "But we'll be fine."
"Yeah, and so will they," Saba said. They had arrived at the post office. Dipsy was walking out.
"What happened?" Dipsy asked, mouth full as usual, looking at Rose and Jenna. "Where's Balto?"

"Yeah...though I really wish he'd turn his life around." said Fang, looking down. "ITs hard you know? When people say I'm Steele's son, I feel like they're insulting me."
"I was playing, how was I supposed to know there was a porcupine in the hole?" asked Dusty.
"The point is, I would've been leading if you'd come with me the first time so wouldn't we all of fallen into the gorge?" asked Balto. "Don't beat yourself up over it."
Jenna grimiced, not wanting Mel to get worked up. "He's out celebrating with the team." she said, being able to be a convincing lier when need be. "Can we look at the map of the race they took? I want to see it."

May sighed. "Thats gotta be rough sometimes. But if they judge you just one your heritage, they're gonna miss out on meeting a really great guy." She nuzzled him comfortingly.
"Your eye?" Ralph suggested teasingly.
"I guess you're right," Kodi admitted.
"Hold on," Mel said. "I've got it right inside." Mel walked back inside.
"I can't believe they're celebrating without me," Dipsy said. "I;m missing the oppitunity on a good meal!"
"I think you'll live," Rose said with a smile, hoping Dipsy wouldn't want to go to the party to badly.
"I doubt they'll be much food there any way," Saba added.
