The she-wolf chuckled to herself. "Oh, its no trouble at all." She cleared her throat. "I'm Kayiya." Takoda nodded. Simply nodded, with a slight smile, trying to seem polite, but then reverted his attention to his paw. He was going to be a difficult one to persuade. Judging by his build, and how he presented himself, he was probably just a mere scout. Nevertheless, he would do. He was kind of cute, after all. She decided that telling him her position of the pack would tickle his fancy. So without missing a beat, she added, "I'm the alpha of a neighboring pack."

That certainly got his attention. Head snapping back up to look at the other, Takoda's mouth hung open briefly in surprise before closing, but his eyes remained widened. Alpha?! Wait...he was still in the pack's territory...so then why was this wolf here? And was it for good intention or bad? The pack had just recently gone through alot of trouble with another pack.

"You are? Oh, well...what are you doing here then? Are you lost? Get separated from your pack?" Maybe he was asking to many questions. She was an alpha after all, and Takoda believed it. The female had the look and posture to her that supported the role. "It might not be a good idea to stay here. I'll be alright. But if Achak comes, I wouldn't want you to get in trouble for me..."

Kayiya laughed. "Oh, no, none of that. I've come on rather...good terms actually." she explained. She felt that she would need to lie tho. Not all of her intentions were good, even she knew this. "See...I've...lost my mate after we...you know. And I'm looking for another mate. I can't run a pack the size of mine by myself and... Well, I was hoping your alpha would become my mate, and our pack could join together."

Then she thought to herself, "But your alpha is an intelligent one. He;d be able to see through why I want him." She needed Takoda, he didn't seem as smart. Besides, maybe if he wouldn't mate with her (which she didn't really care if he did either way) maybe a position of power would convince him to go with her.

Oh, well now Takoda was in quite the position, and was getting uncomfortable. The other seemed truthful. Then again, Takoda always tried to think the best in others due to his friendly nature. Even his name meant 'friend to all'. Hopefully this wolf would remain as friendly as she had so far. But what to tell her? Everyone in the pack knew that Achak was attracted to Kiona. No doubt he would soon ask her to be mates.

"Oh. Well sorry to hear about your mate, I bet it's been hard leading alone. But..." Oh, he didn't like lying, but...in a way it wasn't a complete lie he supposed. "You see...Achak already has a mate." Seeing the other frown, he quickly went on. "But if you and your pack are still looking to join, talking with my brother couldn't hurt. Maybe he could atleast give you some help..." the gray wolf didn't eve notice his slip up in calling his alpha 'brother'.

Hmm...so he was the alpha's brother. Sibling rivalry would be to her advantage (little did she know that Takoda was not in the least bit envious of Achak's higher status). As nice as it would be to be of a larger, more powerful pack, being alpha of her own was very precious to her. She could not disappoint her deceased parents. Besides, her reputation would be at stake if he didn't accept her.

"Well..." she said, scooting closer. "I know how you can help me." Takoda tried to scoot away. His nervousness was obviously about to overflow. "You could be my mate... Wouldn't you like that? I could give you anything you wanted. Being alpha can get you anything your heart desires. Like...pups, for example."

She knew that she was coming on fast, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Besides, how hard could it be to offer him a free alpha position? It was what every wolf wanted.

"What?!" Was this wolf crazy? Alpha? Him?! There was no way he was alpha material. Besides, why would this clearly highly ranked wolf want him as a mate? She was either a bad sense of character, or desperate. Or crazy...but Takoda would never think that of anyone at first, being too nice for his own good.

In his surprise, the gray wolf put weight on his injured paw, causing him to slip and fall. Wincing, he then moved to scramble away from the other wolf, out into the rain. His golden eyes were wide. "Y-You're joking right? I'm one of the last types any wolf would want as an alpha. I'd be too afraid I'd mess up. Actually, I have no desire to be alpha at all. I'm perfectly happy just being a part of my pack. So...I'm really not the best choice. You'd be better off looking for someone else. I'm sorry...?" Now he was uncomfortable, nervous, and a bit panicked. What would the female do or think now?

Kayiya was astonished. She couldn't believe that he was denying her! There must have been something he wanted. This just couldn't be! She refused to take no for an answer. She NEEDED him. "Bu..But you won't mess up! I mean... This--it's impossible. Please accept me!" She begged, joining him standing out in the rain. If looking sad wasn't going to work, she didn't know what she was going to do. She could feel herself slipping into hysterics, because deep down she knew that he wasn't going to budge in his decision. She would not have her pack think less of her because of this pup she was going to bear. She needed him to be hers now.

Takoda could see the desperation in her eyes now, and it wasn't helping his nerves. "I-I'm sorry but I can't...! I don't even know you! And suddenly you want to be mates?" As far as he was concerned, that's not how it worked. For all he knew, this female could be putting on a show. She could really be mean for all he knew. He could sympathize with her position of needing a mate, but he just wasn't who she was right for!

Seeing the alpha coming out towards him again, the gray wolf slowly started moving back, away from her, more careful of his paw now. Now fear was another emotion he was beginning to feel. He wanted nothing more than to be away from this other wolf now. Wishing he wasn't injured, the scout wondered if he dared howl for help. What if the female got aggressive. Right now she was unpredictable. "Please..."

"Please?" she repeated. She shook her head. No. No! "NO!" she yelled. She needed him! Tho she knew he wouldn't even dare to pretend to be her mate, she needed the real thing. She needed him for her sake. For his sake even! How could he be happy just being a mere scout! In her desperation, she started running towards him, with her fangs bared.

She rushed him, and Takoda panicked, trying to run or move away. But with his limited mobility, combined with the ground condition, he couldn't get enough traction to get far. Unfortunately the female easily leapt on him with a growl and knocked him to the muddy ground after biting him. This wolf really was crazy! Yelping at the attack, Takoda instinctively turned his belly up, tail curling up under him. He had never had to assume this position his entire life until now. Maybe if he seemed submissive, Kayiya would calm down and stop attacking.

"Ah, please stop!" Thankfully, for the moment the other stopped. But her fangs remained bared, her eyes wild looking as she stood over him dominantly, possessively. Takoda was afraid to look up at here, so kept his eyes clenched shut, his body rigid. His neck stung from where the alpha had bitten him.

Meanwhile, Takoda's pack was starting to suspect why he was so late. Normally it didn't take the entire day to investigate the territory. They hoped nothing bad happened to him, but it was still too early to judge, they felt. But his tardiness still made them rather uneasy, especially Olathe and Achak and Aya.

Kiona saw Olathe look every which-way through the trees to see any sign of her son coming back, but every time, nothing was seen. Seeing such a worried expression on the old wolf's face made the hybrid feel terrible, so she approached her and spoke, "I'm going to go find Takoda to see if he's on his way back." Olathe looked back at the hybrid in high hopes, and thankful that she volunteered to do such a thing. Olathe offered to go with her, but Kiona said it was probably nothing, and traveled alone.

Kayiya snarled at the cowering wolf. "Get up." she ordered, stepping off him only to violently push him to his feet. He did so, but instead of moving forward like she was urging him to, he stood still, fearing her, but still reluctant to leave. She bit him to get him to move in the direction of her territory.

Yelping again at the harsh treatment, Takoda reluctantly began moving at her orders, not wanting to be attacked. But he couldn't move fast, because of his leg, and often stumbled or slipped to the ground, earning no help from the female, and only to be bitten until he got back up. By now both of them were well soaked through their fur as well. It didn't seem to bother the alpha as much as Takoda, who shivered in both cold and fear of the other, wondering how things would turn out for him. He was too scared to call out. And if he did surely Kayiya would viciously attack him again. Would he ever see his family again? Or was this desperate wolf going to take him away.

Eventually the poor wolf couldn't walk anymore. He was too cold and was hurting from his original injury, and from the multiple attacks Kayiya had inflicted on him. With a whimper, he laid down, not caring anymore that it was in the mud. The rain was at least taking away some of the pain by numbing him, and washing away the blood the female was shedding. But now that he had stopped, he knew that the other would not be happy.

"Get UP!" Kayiya ordered. "GET UP!" She went to bite him again, but she was so upset, she didn't notice the echo of paws coming towards them. When she heard they stopped, she looked back, only to meet her face to a set of fangs. She yelped and fell back, half-landing on Takoda, who was still on the ground.

"Get away from him!" the red hybrid snarled, fur, tail, and ears raised high. Once the dark silver she-wolf stood up with a groan, they glared at each other. Kiona's eyebrows raised. This wolf looked so...familiar. At first Kiona thought she was Kita because she looked almost identical to her! It couldn't have been her, could it? Kita was dead, wasn't she? "Kita?"

"You ***** hybrid! Mind your own business!" Kayiya began to say as blood trickled into her eyes, but then she realized. The name Kita belonged to her older sister, the one she left for dead. How did this blood-red inferior have any connections with her terrible sister? Could Kita have survived? Could this hybrid have saved her sister's life? If that was so, both of them would pay. "How do you know my sister?"

"Sister?" Kiona thought. So that's why they looked so similar. This wolf was the sibling of that selfish, cowardly mate of a demon. At least now it was no surprise why this wolf acted the way she did. She figured that's what happened often to those with poor relations. Kiona finally spoke aloud, answering the strange wolf's question: "I killed her."

Takoda's eyes shot up at hearing the familiar voice. He wondered if he had been any happier to hear the voice. Kiona! Thank goodness some help. Grunting a bit as Kayiya got knocked back into him, the wolf struggled to his feet and slinked away from the two females, not wanting to get caught in the middle of what could turn into a bad fight. At Kiona's statement about Kita, the gray wolf blinked. Maybe that was why he had seemed somewhat comfortable with Kayiya at first. Kita had been with the pack earlier, and the alpha did look like the other.

Continuing to listen to the two, and finding out Kita had been Kayiya's sister was surprising, yet easy to see. Why hadn't Takoda thought of it before? And now that Kiona had told the alpha that her sister was dead...how would she react? It was a tense moment, the injured wolf hoping it didn't get too violent, possibly not at all.

"That can't be possible." Kayiya thought. This mutt killed her sister? Well...Kita was never the brightest of the bunch. And if she somehow managed to survive, then she'd be able to believe. Just the same, Kita deserved either fate. She just deserved to die altogether, the traitor. "Good," Kayiya nodded. Both Kiona and Takoda were very surprised about her reaction towards the news. "She deserved her fate more than once, I'm sure." She looked back at Takoda. "Now, if you don't mind, I would like to take my new mate with me." Kayiya knew that this hybrid would want to fight, so instead of foolishly trying to usher Takoda out of the vicinity without much thought about being stopped, she readied herself into a battling stance.

"You're going to be disappointed, then," Kiona snarled, lunging at the she-wolf. Kayiya counter-attacked, meeting Kiona in midair, making them both fall into a pit of mud. Kayiya obviously underestimated Kiona, because she wouldn't give her a chance to fight. In barely ten seconds, Kiona had Kayiya's entire head submerged into the mud, all air passageways denied. Kiona teeth were gritted, but she wasn't growling, she wasn't going to let her up. She'd drown her before that happened. But...something was peculiar about this wolf. Why would this wolf be so desperate for a mate? She would...want to be a mother. Or have a father figure in her pups' life. But she tried to hurt Takoda, maybe even kill him! That cannot be forgiven! He was her family!

But just the same...even tho these cruel, harsh thoughts were true...Kiona couldn't bring herself to kill Kayiya. So Kiona grabbed her by the scruff, getting her own face muddy, and lifted her out of the puddle. Kayiya was coughing harshly, but was alright. "Get out of here." Kiona demanded.
