They should put there heads in the water and come up with something new for change. I mean Deamworks is doing better job, much better job. After Lion King it's over for Disney, I'm going to rent the movie today and make copy BOOM there $20 gone for Disney! grincolonp.gif

OMG they try to do all Ghibli Studio works, that tells you lot right there, they have lost it.

Another thing I liked is how good a job The replacement voice actors did sounding like the originals.

I agree - major Plus on Disney's behalf! Except for Copper at some points . . . he sounded like a high-pitched girl at times, but much of the movie, the voice was as close as it could get. Tod's voice sounded close too, but I do believe I heard a bit of maturity in his voice at times.

The voices that really surprised me the most were Widow Tweed and Amos Slade . . . wow. I doubt those were the original voices, but whoever they got to do it, they did a great job!

The new characters weren't so bad. I especially liked Dixie's voice best out of the Singing Strays.

I thought it was a cute movie, It also gave hints as to how Widow Tweed and Amos Slade would become friends at the end of the original.

Well, of course. The whole theme of the film was about friendship, so why not? :D

And is it just Me or did that cricket look like squeaks The Caterpillar from the original?

Oh my gosh, I'm not the only one who noticed that! Ah, homage to the original, I suppose . . . nice one, Dis. XD

I'm guessing that the story takes place after Tod first meets chief, But before They live on the hunting trip.

Most likely . . . I think the "sequel" took place in the late summertime, due to the whole atmosphere of the film, the setting, backgrounds, etc., so yeah . . .

Besides, they had no choice but to set it at that time anyway, because both Tod and Copper grow up over that winter.

I loved the song "Good Dogie No Bone", But I still think an actual sequel would have been able to tell a better story.

That whole number just . . . over the top at points, but it was a nice, classic Disney musical routine that suited Dixie's personality a lot. They chose the right character for it (and the right voice too)!

I agree - an actual sequel would have been more interesting, maybe having Tod and Vixey (and a possible new family) visit Copper, who's probably all lonely since his best friend is no longer there and is in search of someone to love him too. Yes, I know the idea is pure cheese, but it probably would have been a better movie instead of this "actual midquel"-sequel.

I loved "Hound Dude" and the first time they sang "We're in Harmony" I reaslly liked that. i also think that it kinda deepened the friendship so you really see how close they really were. I thought that was somethin special.

I was actually suprised that this sequal was actually fairly good, although there are a few diffrences to this movie from the first one, Where did the fair come from was never shown before not even the town but you can't complain ITS DISNEY they always do it for money..........Anyways the movie wasn't as dissapointing as I thought it would be but there were some parts that i didnt like either

It was OK. Chief's voice bugged me a little bit because it was all raspy and high at parts, but for the most part the voices were good. If you're not a really big music fan, I don't think this movie would have been that good. Dixie was my favorite singer, but Cash had a good voice too! And what was confusing about the plot? Copper joins a band because one of the singers gets kicked out; Tod wants his friend back and Dixie wants her job back; Tod and Dixie form a plan to get what they both want. What's so hard to follow about that? I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. It was cute, but it wasn't great. It was really only for kids, when the first one could be enjoyed by anyone of any age.

In my eyes, it looks like they ruined. I'd have preferred them to keep going where the first movie left off, not jump back in time. I'm adding this movie to my list of "do not watch till it can be found for $1.00."

I watched it.

And, it's to be honest quite cute. :)
I liked it. I didn't hate it, nor did I loved it. It was a bit too much aimed towards children(Who would've guessed?), but it was a cute child film, whatsoever.

The animation wasn't the same, but was okay. I hated how Tod and Copper sounded, and how Tod looked like, though.

I agree, but what else would they do? Give Copper a female companion while Tod and Vixey have a litter of kits? Boring.

But you do have a slight point: it was a bit ruined. And a few lines of the movie were a bit . . . off on the certain timeline (not a spoiler):

Early in the film, Copper mentions something about hunting lessons and being a hunting dog. Tod tells him that maybe he could be good at that, since the most of the film is about Copper finding his special talent.

For anyone else who has watched the original film, didn't Tod find out from Big Mama at the end of fall that Copper was becoming a hunting dog that would soon be trained to hunt and track him down? Plus, from what I understand of the F&tH2, it feels like it takes place sometime in the mid-autumn, with the trees and such.

Other than that, that was one of the only problems that I saw/heard in the "sequel". Sure, it's not perfect, but I thought it was catchy fun and a good showing of the ups and downs of friendship and stardom. You should give it a try, Alpine! It might be better than you think it is.
