Kat winced at his voice, that soft, velvet, purr that scratched like nails on a chalkboard for her. She kept her gaze on the carpet, trying to act like she wasn't Kathrine...Um...Kat...He said Kathrine...He always called her Kathrine, that's what made her feel so special when she was around him. And ever since Ian, Kat never let anyone call her Kathrine, bad memories, and he could only call her that.
"Uhh..." Was all she managed, the tone in his voice…He owned her and she knew it.

"A visit little brother." Ian replied, smirked as he wrapped an arm around Arthur and pulled him against his chest, like some kind of demented hug. You could see Arthur go rigid with contact with Ian.
"But you never..visit.." The younger brother commented.

Kat began to shake frantically. She was out of the deer in the headlights stage and was ready to get out of there. But she needed to stand her ground…Right? Yes. That was important, to show Ian that he no longer owned her body, her heart, her anything. But then Kat’s mind began to wonder…Back to the days in Ireland…His little cottage…Waking up next to him…His scent…Mint and freshly cut grass…Kat shook herself from the memory, her heart aching for that same kind of feeling again. But she had Alfred now, right? Yes. Alfred. Alfred was good.

Alfred walked protectively over to Kat, and as soon as he put an arm around her the Scot stiffened. Completely still, his eyes locked on Alfred's arm, then on Kat's eyes. Ian could play that game, he loved messing with Kat, his favorite thing to do. Build her up and break her down. He smiled and pulled Arthur closer, gripping him tighter, until the brit whimpered.
"Ian, that hurts." Arthur said quietly, making Ian grin.

Kat felt Alfred next to her and leaned into him slightly, trying to get Ian out of her head. But how could she? He was right there! She was 17 when…No…She wouldn’t go back, she promised herself she’d never let herself get hurt that bad again. Kat gripped Alfred’s hand tightly, but it wasn’t the same as holding Ian’s hand. That year…That sweet, sweet year…Kat tried to blink herself away, but his scent of smoke and spearmint was all to fresh. Kat gagged on the scent, or maybe the lack of his scent. Her eyes darted to his deep green ones and she winced, a flash flood of memories sweeping in. She tightened her grip on Alfred’s hand. ‘It’s over, Kat. You have Alfred…You have Alfred…’ she told herself. But her eyes traveled again to Ian’s. His rolling green hills, his carefree summer days, his everything…Kat felt her stomach knot when he hugged Arthur, he used to hug her. Kat remember all to well his voice as she pressed her ear to the elder’s chest and focused on his deep, purring, voice.

Ian let go, waltzing by Kat into the kitchen, opening the refrigerator and pulling out a bottle of water.
"So Arthur, when did you get a new, eh, roomate?" He questioned sitting down on the couch. Arthur immediantly followed, sitting across from him in a chair, making the couch the only other place to sit - beside Ian.
"She's Alfred's...girlfriend? Friend?"

Kat felt her free hand shake when Ian waltz passed her, with his closeness came another attack of memories. She winced slightly wanting his closeness, but despising him. He heard Arthur say something about her being a friend or a girlfriend and Kat immediately said.
“Alfred and I are together…” She said breathlessly, giving Alfred’s hand another squeeze. A cold sweat had worked its way to her face. Her cheeks were pale and had a glossy sheen to them.

Riley noticed Kat’s odd behavior and touched her shoulder, her motherly instincts kicking in.
“You look pale, come on, I’ve got dinner” Riley said, directing Kat to a seat next to Ian, not knowing their past.

Kat wanted to move over a seat, but she didn’t want to make anything obvious.

Ian raised his eyebrows with an amused look.
"Come Katherine, i don't bite." Ian teased, smirking deviously. Alfred, as clueless as he always was, smiled thinking it was a joke. Arthur sat, looking at his newly burned hand.

Kat blinked, but still leaned slightly away from him. His words…He’d said that when they met…

Kat sat at the pub; she had just ran away from home, so her stranger danger sense was sharp. Ian slid into the stool next to her. She immediately felt that urge to run, that 6th sense that screamed that he was trouble. But she stayed, sipping on her Shirley Temple. She leaned away from him slightly, and he said those same words.
“Common, I don’t bite” Then flashed a grin and used that tone that claimed her…Forever he’d promised…Forever…

Kat blinked, and found she had been holding her breath the entire time she’d been think of that. She gasped for a breath and gulped down the water in front of her, not looking at Ian.

Arthur looked up, and saw that teasing look in Ian's eye, the one he had when they were kids and he always took it too far with Arthur.
"Ian. THats enough." Arthur stated, earning a deadly glare from his older brother. Ian threw his arm around Kat with a smirk.
"Please, i'm only kidding around Arthur, see?" He said, giving Kat's shoulder a slight squeeze, something that said 'if you say anything else..'

Kat felt her face heat up when Ian slung an arm around her shoulder. His soft hand traced circles into her shoulder, she wanted to break down. Kat tried to wince away from his touch, but she couldn't command her body to do anything. She just stared at the cloth infront of her, unblinking.

Riley noticed the distress in Kat's face a behavior, but she didn't say anything.

"Ian." Arthur said again, standing up. As soon as Arthur stood, Ian did as well, towering over his brother. Everything was silent.
"Arthur. You know better-" Ian began angrily, before Arthur interrupted him. "I said stop, Ian, stop means sto-" Arthur's voice was paused by a sickening crack. Ian had smacked him clear across the face, leaving an already red mark. The silence continued, before Arthur tackled ian, sending them both rolling on the floor. As quick as it had happened, Ian had Arthur pinned, beating the living crap out of him.

“Stop!” A shriek ripped from Kat’s throat, she bolted over to Ian and pushed him over. He was taken by surprise, so she got him off of Arthur. Kat sat on Ian’s chest, her hands pinning his elbows to the tile. Kat felt herself panic; she didn’t want to get hurt. But Ian wouldn’t hurt her, he promised he never would…Then again, he promised her a lot of things. Kat felt her throat get even dryer as she looked into his eyes. She shook frantically but couldn’t summon words. She blinked a few times, missing his touch.
“Don’t fight…I can’t stand it…” Her voice broke, Ian knew her like a book, he should know that fighting upsets her.

Everything happened too fast for Riley. But when the dust cleared Kat was a top Ian, her legs straddling his chest.

Arthur was up against a wall, his nose bleeding badly and his jaw looked dis-placed.
"Da** you Ian." Arthur snarled, making his brother smirk.
"Aw, Katherine don't be like that.." Said brother purred, putting his hands on her waist. Alfred felt a surge of protection run through him and he pulled Kat off of Ian, who immediantly snapped up and was going at Arthur again, who got a good few hits on Ian before his brother slammed him onto the kitchen table, The Brit's throat in his hand.
"Back down." He ordered, earning a muffled "N-No." From Arthur.

Kat felt her chest rush when Ian put a hand on her waist, but she was then pulled off by Alfred and her connection with Ian had been broken. She chocked at then saw Ian pinning Arthur to the table, a hand clamped on Arthur’s throat. Kat rushed into Ian again.
“Stop it, Ian! Please! Stop it! He has a family! Leave him alone! LEAVE HIM ALONE!” Her ear biting scream echoed through the house, causing Nico to cry out in Riley’s arms. Riley hadn’t been holding up so well, she was bawling her eyes out, begging Ian to stop. Kat balled her fist and his Ian in the jaw. Only to double back and grimace, her hand tucked under her arm.
“D*mmit, that broke me hand!” She exclaimed.
