Carmen pushed the door open and she led Dymitri inside, meeting eyes with a short, stocky man behind the counter.
"Can I help you?" the man asked with a heavy spanish accent.
Carmen strolled up to the counter. "Do you have a map of the area?"
The man nodded and and turned his back to find a map.
"Are you okay?" Carmen whispered to Dymitri.

The man turned back around and handed Carmen a large poster that was folded up into a small rectangle.
Carmen took the map. "Thanks." she said. "How much?"
The man shook his head and waved away the question with a dismissive hand. "Don't worry about it, we've got more than we can sell and they're worth only 10 cents anyway." he glanced at Dymitri. "He okay?" he asked.

The man took a step back when Dymitri snapped at him. "Alright, alright..." he replied, raising his eyebrows at the boy.
Carmen followed Dymitri's gaze and she spotted a mysterious, shadowy figure in the corner of the store. Map in hand, she nodded to the man behind the counter and walked back over to the door.

Carmen stepped back inside the car, softly closing the door as not to wake anyone in the backseat. She unfolded the map and scanned it over. "What do you think?" she asked. "Park? Reservation? Minefield?"

"Minefields are actually not bad, especially abandoned ones, they've got caves and stuff..." Carmen pointed out as she glanced around on the map.
