[Balto, Complete] So wrong, but it feels so right [Part 1]

Mira waited impatiently, ears twitching here and there, waitign for something, Slyth calling for Saba, his paws hitting the snow. ANYTHING.

SHe smriekd as she finally did hear it, she was laying on her back, surpported by one fore paw. She smriked as Slyth came to the realization Saba wasn't the one who was screaming. She grinned "Yea, My own big brother shoulda remembered I can sound liek his supposed sister/lover! If you still love her that is," who could blame Mira? She had no idea what had gone on, she had usually been out at Her Father's boat or out on the outskirts, just tihnking; something a one year old husky female would never do. Mira got up and growled a bit, claws unsheathed "Look, all I wanna know why oyu're cheating on Saba, after you said you loved her!!! And I know you did cause she told me what happened, she's all wrapped in bandages now I suppose, you really tihnk SAba would go out looking like an invalid?" she rolled her eyes "GHuess you don't know her liek you know that little hussy you were with...I was the one watching you two!"

Slyth's jaw jropped, realizing what she was getting at. At first, he'd been caught up in surprise and shock so he didn't catch on right away. Only when she asked what was he doing cheating on Saba for did he get it. He felt both embarrased and guilty. Furious and annoyed at her for eavesdropping on them, he grunted and sat down. "Mira, this was supposed to stay a secret. Im in a bit of a sticky situation here. I do love Saba, I really do. But. . . I feel the same way for Blitz. It's complicated and I can't explain it too well, but i've been holding back and hiding my emotions for Blitz for a long time now. As it turned out, Blitz had a crush on me as well. I don't know why i did it, it was just in the moment. . ." He frowned a bit as he recalled just how much trouble this was. Two females had found a place in his heart and he couldn't bring himself to choose between one of them. Saba or Blitz? It was too difficult to just choose. Yea, he wanted to be with Blitz. Badly. But he wanted to be with Saba just as much.

Kestrel, a young, boisterous wolfdog, with soft light aubern fur, and a kicka*s personality was leaning halfway out the car, her thick coat flapping wildly in the strong breeze. Her and her Boy, Liam, had taken a few months off to visit Canada. Although Canada had been excellent; Kestrel was still obviously looking foreward to seeing her family again. So much must've been going on since she left! And she wanted to be updated on all the latest gossip as soon as possible!

At last she saw the small remote town of Nome appearing in the distance. Her curled tail flapped wildly against the back seat in pure excitement, the freezing wind becoming stronger, and tugging at her fur and purple velvet ribbon more frequently with more force. Kestrel laughed and threw her muzzle to the sky, letting out an excited wolfish howl, which drowned out against the wind. One thing she hated more than almost anything was anyone hearing her sing. But she was so excited... she couldn't help herself!

Balto and Jenna had both exchanged glances of surprise, concern, and slight suspicion as Slyth ran off back toward and eventually into the alleyways of Nome. Balto's ears perked up as he thought he'd heard someone call out Slyth's name, but as soon as he had thought he'd heard it, it was gone, lost into the calm stillness of the wintry air. The scarlet and cream colored husky and the scruffy gray-brown wolfdog turned back toward Blitz. "What has gotten into that boy...?" Jenna asked softly, shaking her head slowly, "He's acting like he has something to hide..." Balto nodded slowly in agreement, looking up at Blitz, his golden-brown wolven eyes staring straight into hers. "Blitz, do you know what's going on with Slyth?" he asked calmly, "He seems a little... jumpy lately..." Though Balto and Jenna had always hated suspecting their children of deceiving them, they couldn't help but feel that Slyth was acting like he did have something to keep hidden from them...

Blitz felt her heart bang against her chest, trying to burst out. Why had Balto had to ask that question? She looked at them both, determined not to bite the inside of her lip in a tell-tale sign of nervousness. Her mind raced, shifting through various lies she could tell or stories she could weave to make them feel less alarmed. Most seemed completely unsuitable, if not totally unbelieveable. She could feign ignorance and pretend to be completely in awe at Slyth's sudden diappearance, but she would never be able to pull that off in front of them. Besides, how could she lie to Balto of all dogs? In the end, she went with the truth, or as much of it as could be allowed to be revealed.

"I think he just remembered to go and check on Saba." The half-breed took a deep breath before continuing, desperately keeping her gaze away from their faces so that she wouldn't have to see the worry develop. "You see, after the trouble with Dart's gang, Saba was a little... distraught. She wouldn't tell me what was wrong, and I'll admit part of it was probably a little my fault. I had to yell at her when I was trying to remove Storm from the gang because I was trying to pretend I was still Dart's friend. She ran off after that and we didn't find her till a little later. She was in the woods, trying to..." She took another breath, trying to find a way to say it that made less painful or shocking. "...She took her claws and dug them into her neck, trying to end her life. She lost a lot of blood before we found her and calmed her down. I tried to appologize, I don't remember if I did completely, but she seemed to calm and she hasn't been angry at me since that night."

The predominately black hybrid raised her gaze to their faces, but immediately wished she hadn't and so lowered it again. "She's still injured, though the humans managed to bandage her up pretty well. Her life's not in danger or anything, but Slyth has still been very caring and watchful. He really loves his sister a lot and he's tried to help her all the way."

Every word she'd spoken was the truth, though she had left out key details. At least her conscience was quiet now and she'd hopefully managed to provide Slyth with a suitable allibi for his disappearance. They would probably head home now, to see the injured Saba. But Blitz thought, as Slyth had, that it was Saba who had been calling him all along. How would she explain Saba's absence when they all arrived at the house? Simple, she didn't have to. As far as either she or Slyth knew, Saba had been there resting all day. Besides, how Blitz, a non-member of the family, know of the comings and goings of everyone in the family house? What she didn't know was that it was Mira who had been calling and Saba was indeed at the house.

Mira growled in annoyance. She started pacing "You're not a polygamist are you Slyth?!" she asked, eyes staring fixedly into her older brother's. She had her ears planted back and her tan fur bristled. She couldn't believe how stupid Slyth was! Always complaining to HER about how much he loved Saba, and yet, here he was; With Blitz, snuggling and talking to her as if she was a long-time lover. She just paced an stared at the snowy-and paw print marked-ground.

Mira looked up "What do you want in a girl Slyth?"

"Blitz" Slyth inadvertently spoke. His mind had been stuck on her, mainly because of what he and her had just been doing. But, even as he said it he realized what he was saying. Shaking his head he stuttered out an answer. Taking time so as to make sure he didn't say the wrong thing and ended up making this alot worse than it was. "I-I mean. Well, I'd like them to be fun to be around. Like Saba and Blitz." When he'd said that, he realized he had nothing left to say. 'That's it? That's all you can come up with?!' he mentally chastised himself. It didn't matter though. He was certain that one way or another, when this conflict was resolved, someone would be left heartbroken. He didn't want to hurt Saba or Blitz, but this problem he was presented with left him with very little choice. He could try and be with them both, but eventually they'd get suspicious and find out. Then he would be left alone, with neither of them.

Balto and Jenna had both listened intently, eyes and ears locked on Blitz as she began to tell them the tale of what had been going on throughout the days. As her story continued through the events, Balto and Jenna could literally feel the anxiety and worry grow and grow within them. How? How on Earth could we have missed all of this?! Balto asked imself frantically in thought, This is insane! "Oh my God! Saba! Why would she have done something like that?" Jenna asked, her voice shrill with concern and fear as she looked at Balto. "I don't know Jenna... We need to find her, Slyth, and Storm, and talk to them right now..." Balto replied, looking back to Blitz, "You said they're back at the house, right? Thank you Blitz... Come on Jenna, let's hurry!"

Balto and Jenna exchanged a quick look once more before rushing off back toward Nome. They ran through the snow, dashing through the gaps in the fences and down the alleyways. They made their way out into the streets and down toward the house. After a few minutes, they slipped through the doggy-door and into the warm house. "Saba? Saba, dear, are you alright?" Jenna called out, listening for her daughter's voice or anyone's voice for that matter.

Saba sighed, laying on her cushion. Like Hell she would leave the ohuse like this! Her eyes half closed before Jenna came in, callign out for her.

"Mom?? Mom is that you?" her voice was soft. The white bandages around her head and neck were stained a bright red "I'm on my bed Mom!" she called again, head raised and ears perked. She owdnered what all the fuss was about; then it dawned on her. Crap! My suicide attempt!!! Soemoen musta said something....Oh Gods I'm in for it...

Mira huffed, sitting down. SHe almost looked like she would throw a fit of anger. But, she stayed calm, and glared up to Slyth "You have to choose Slyth," this is where she leaned to his ear, teeth bared slightly "Or I will tell both of them...Save you a lot of trouble, don't it?!" don't blame her. She's young and caught up with her favorite sister and one of her favorite brother's "Or I can just tell Mom and Dad about you and Saba..."

(Seeing as my last post was ignored, not trying to flame, i'll just make it to where Max never walked over to the four of them. xP)

As Max laid by the boat watching on upon his parents, brother and friend he tryed to listen in from the distance. He couldnt heard much, but laughing, so he guessed all was fine until he heard the soft voice that sounded like his sisters calling for his brother. As he watched Slyth run off he gave a puzzled look as to what was happening, cause he only saw him leave not his parents, nor Blitz. The look on his parents faces looked trouble as if they might of just noticed the sound, unknowing of what was being told to them, and watched them run off as well in the houses direction. He firgured he'd be seeing her run off next so getting up he shook his body, shaking off the sand, and raced off too where he thought the sound of his sister was.

As he padded through the last of the beach and into town and as he began to get near he heard the voices of both his brother and his sister, yet it no longer sounded like Saba, but Mira. Staying only by the wall to his side at first to listen to what they talked about he heard Mira as she seem to slam him with these questions that he felt that he really couldnt answer if he was in his paws. After a bit of it, he walked into acting as if he had randomly just shown up right after Mira spoke. Looking at the two he said in a stern voice, "Whats going on? Whats with all this tension here?" He really didnt care if they answered he only hoped that it might brake this little fight up.

Slyth's jaw jropped open at Mira's threat, outraged. He gave her a stunned look of disbelief and horror. He couldn't believe she was going to use that on him! He couldn't help what had happened to him and he couldn't choose either. It wasn't within his power to control who he fell in love with. It was just his rotten luck that he fell in love with two fea's. So now he had to make a choice. Closing his mouth and growled. He would have told her what was on his mind just then if it weren't for the appearance of their brother, Max.

He backed away from Mira innocently as he looked over in Maxs' direction hesitently and looked over him. Immediatly, he noticed that he had dropped the red fur thing he'd had going on last time he saw him. But he was trying to tell how much he'd heard. "It's nothing." He spoke, looking down at his paws before looking to Mira, giving her an angry look, and walking away. As he passed Max, he said into his ear;

"Glad you gave up the red fur thing. It didn't look right on you."

Max acted as if he hadnt heard anything from what they said earlier, when he first got there, and gave a puzzled look at his brother as he looked to Mira before responding, "Ok. I was just making sure." Max cocked a grin as he heard his brother whisper, but didnt say anything back, he just watch him leave with a smirk,. Turning towards Mira and giving her a mad look, to show he knew what really went on, look before he walked off himself unsure if she even got the message. As he walked off he looked off into the different directions around, as he was unsure as to where to even go at this point. He didnt feel like dealing with the shock of his parents, or nor did he plan to follow Slyth, firguring he was going back to Blitz.

Jenna's ears perked up once she heard the sweet voice of her daughter coming from inside a nearby room that was their bedroom. Not hesitating for even the slightest moment, Jenna walked quickly, nearly running into the room. When her amber eyes fell upon Saba, her face lit up into a bright smile. She rushed up beside her and nuzzled her lovingly, glad to see she was alright. Balto followed in shortly behind her and beamed at his daughter as well, nuzzling her in the same manner. Then Jenna took notice of the bandages around her neck and her smile faded, her eyes shining with sympathy and confusion.

"Oh Saba... Why, sweetheart? Why would you ever want to do anything like that to harm yourself?" Jenna asked softly, shaking her head slowly in disbelief that she'd actually try something like that, "What could make you want to take your own life?" Balto didn't even know what to say at this point. Jenna had said what both of them had been clearly thinking. His gold and brown eyes moved across the bandage on her neck, trying to wonder why on Earth she'd want to leave this world behind... What could have done so much to drive her to near-suicide?

Saba gave a soft smile, as her parents nuzzled her. Soon her smile faded too and she lowered her ears "Well, Storm was interested in being a gang member. I had gone out for the first itme in a long itme. And...and I don't know what came over me. I was distraught, I wasn't seeing anything straight. I guess after such a long time inside it was too much for me to handle in one day..." she closed her eyes "I'm sorry if I made you both worry." Saba laid shook her heads form the memory of what happened that day. She never wanted to do that again...

Mira growled, stalking off she would run back home, coming thorugh the door, grumbling and snarling under her breath. Taking her cushion into her mouth she would drag out of the room and into the next, laying it down in a corner and laying the cushion itself. "Stupid Slyth...can't even close his heart for one female...gotta have em all..." she grumbled all the while, curled up tight on her bed. Just basically cursing Slyth for even existing.
