Nick decided to let Beth know he was going out for awhile, even if that meant wakeing her up. He pulled on some jeans and a shirt as he walked quietly down to the little room, he tried to open the door quietly, but it ultimately let out a loud squeak.

Bethany rolled her head over to look at Nick, she struggled to sit up, only to find her elbows buckle underneath her as she fell back against the bed. The girl licked her dry lips, looking at his figure in the doorway. She wanted to get up and leave, then apologize for intruding. But she was so sick. Beads of sweat dotted her forehead, her breathing was ragged.
"Nick?" she asked, her voice hoarse, squinting to see who it was.

"Bethany?" Nick heard her hoarse cry, and hurried over to her bedside. As he looked down at her, he noticed she was paler than usual. He placed a gentle hand on her forehead "Oh, you sick Kiddo?" He asked, feeling her hot skin.

Bethany nodded weakly, her head spinning round and round. She felt stupid for being sick.

"Hmm.." Nick hurried off and came back a few minutes later, with awet wash cloth and a couple of asprins. "Here.." he said gently, placing the cool wet cloth over her forehead, then sitting the pills along with some water on the nightstand. "I'll stick around here for you today, you need anything call for me, okay?"

Bethany nodded, grabbing the asprins and gulping the water down. She popped the pills and swallowed them easily. Bethany then lay her head down, closing her eyes again.

With that, Nick stretched and started back out to the living room.

When Beth woke up again, she was feeling much better. Her fever had broke, to her relief. Bethany sat up, popping her shoulder blades and scooting out of bed. The carpet felt nice against her toes as she shuffled around the house. She appeared in the living room, Nick's large shoulder hanging off of her shoulder. She stretched, her porcelain smooth skin pale and showing from her thighs down.
"Hey." She said with a huge yawn.

Nick looked back at her cocking his eyebrow as he observed her current appearence as she stretched. He couldn't help but notice where the shirt fitted: A smirk formed on his face but it quickly vanished and he smiled warmly "Hey Beth, you feelin' better?" He forced himself to say, his eyes casually looking her over.

Bethany nodded, smiling sweetly. She walked over to him and sat next to Nick, tossing her head back and inhaling deeply.
"A lot." She admitted, looking at the sun as it filtered through the window.

When she sat down next to him, and started watching the sun: he watched her... Her thin pale figure, sitting in the sunlight, he light blonde hair a bit messy but still perfect. He was rubbing his hands on his jeans, his knees. "Well, that's good to hear." He smiled, stretching out his long strong arms, flexing all his muscled in his torso and arms. Since he had on a tight fitting shirt which clung to his strong frame anyway, he did it half to show off.

Bethany caught his movement in the corner of her eye and looked over, pausing at his tanned, rough skin, that looked so soft to the touch. He had scars on his knuckles and fingers, Bethany knew he'd served time in the army, but never thought Nick had ever gotten hurt. She looked at his arms, seeing as they were painted with light scars. The obliviously pulled his arm into her lap, examining his arm like a scientist would examine a fascinating discovery. She touched the light scars slowly, counting them, not realizing how close she;d gotten. She was too absorbed in her observations to make note of their touching.
"How'd you get these?" She asked, not looking up from his arm.

Nick watched her quietly, he smiled "Well...these..." He teased, flexing his arm, his biscep large and intimidating. "...I got from highschool football..." He joked before looking at his scarred arm. "I got the scars on this arm, from a faulty grenade..." He sighed. With his arm in her lap he let it relax and go limp, he placed his hand high on her thigh, but Nick was smooth, he made it look unintentional, like that's just where his arm rested.

Bethany nodded, "I never knew you did football in High School." she said softly, looking up at him. She gave a perplexed look, ignoring his hand on her thigh. Bethany was comfortable around Nick, so this closeness didn't bother her in the slightest. She tapped her finger to her lower lip, still thinking.
"I've known you for a long time now.. And I hardly know anything about you. Yet you know practically everything about me.." She mused quietly, thinking the observation was rather sad.

"Hmm..." Nick nodded, scratching his cheek. "...Well, that's probablly cause there ain't much to tell... After highschool I fell in love, went to the army, was gone for.... Four years...? Came back and got a job for your dad." He left out a few things, like the fact that he had been engadged to his highschool sweet-heart. When he came home they had intended to get married but they got into a car wreck (giving him a scar on his back, shoulder blade) she ultimately passed away with Nick at her side, holding her hand. While he had spoke he had inched his hand closer to her inner thigh, nonchalantly.
