Calypso smiled and nodded her head. She said "Then, are you the second oldest? Why I am asking is because you are not shy and you are very polite, none like your brothers are."

Tiger and Buddy kept on chewing on Calypso's ears playfully.

"No, it goes, Tiger, Trick, Buddy, Jemimah, me, and then Destiny."

Calypso smiled and said "Just if your older siblings could be like you, especially the males, but boys will be boys and girls will be girls, I guess. Have you pups ever heard how your mom and dad met?"

Tiger and Buddy stopped and went over to Temple. They sat down and waited. Tiger said "No, ma'am. We've not been told about that yet."

Calypso shook her head and said "Well, it's a wonderful story, pups. You should ask your mom if she'll tell you the story now."

Tiger and Buddy both gave their mom the puppy look and begged "Will you tell us the story? Pretty please!!!"

Calico glanced at Calypso. "All right. Before I met your father, he was a doggie-pet and I was a wild dog in a pack, that was led by my father, Rex. Ruger was chasing a cat, and he bumped into me when I scavenging for food. He began talking to me and immediately he wanted to be my mate. My brother, Turbo, saw us together and Ruger was challenged by Roscoe to be my mate, and Ruger one. The father thought I was expecting Roscoe's pups, but I lied about that. We then ran away together once I told him the truth about me expecting Roscoe's pups."

Calypso smiled and said "A very good love story. Love on first sight for my son, what about you, Calico? Did you want to be his mate when you looked into his eyes?"

Tiger and Buddy nodded their heads and said at the same time "I hope that I am that lucky when I'm daddy's age." Tiger looked at Buddy and grinned. He said "Jinx. You owe me a nice good piece of meat."

Buddy whined and said "That's not fair."

Calico hesitated. "At first, I couldn't stand him. I just wanted him to get out of my fur. Then me told me what he felt... and I felt the same way."

Trick wrinkled his nose. "Gross!"

Calypso looked at Trick and smiled. She said "It will not be gross forever, young Trick. You will one day experience the same feeling as all older creatures have and then you wouldn't even believe you said it was gross." She looked at Calico and said while smiling warmly "Then, it's a good thing you didn't chase him away because you wouldn't have these adorable pups, you wouldn't have Ruger, and I wouldn't have a beautiful she-dog to call my daughter-in-law."

Trick stared at Calypso as if he couldn't believe a word he was saying.

Calypso looked down at Trick and said while smiling at him "Don't listen to this old stupid wolf. I don't know what I'm talking about." She winked at Calico and giggled. She said whil smiling warmly "You really are beautiful, Calico. Any she-dog would be jealous of you because you are so beautiful and that causes all of the he-dogs to be jealous of Ruger because he has such a beautiful mate."

"Thank you, Calypso." Calico said, dipping her head.

Calypso smiled and said "It's my pleasure, Calico, but I only speak the truth."

Ruger rounded up the rest of his pack and went to the only place where Calico would be safe at, his mom's place. He looked back at his pack and said "Stay here, guys. I'll be back out in a minute." He headed inside and smiled when he seen his mom and his mate. He walked up to Calico and nuzzled her lovingly while saying "I missed you terribly, Calico."

"I missed you too, Ruger." Calico murmured softly into his ear. She stared lovingly at him, before backing away and saying, "What do we do now?"

Ruger looked at his pups and asked fatherly "How have my brave little pups been?"

Tiger smiled and said "I'm good, dad. How have you been?"

Ruger smiled at Tiger and said "I'm good. Just came back with the biggest pack of canines I've ever seen in my life. Nobody really likes your grandfather it seems."

Buddy growled and said "Can we fight? I want to."

Ruger shook his head and said firmly "No! All of you will stay here with your grandmother while your mother and I deal with him."

Destiny shivered and said "Give that devil a piece of his own medicine, daddy. Please!"

Ruger nodded his head and said "I will, Destiny. You can count on it."

Calico quickly glanced at Ruger as Temple softly padded up. "Let me fight."

Ruger shook his head and said firmly "No! You will stay put, Temple. You will NOT follow us!!" He licked Temple forehead and said "I'm sorry but you can't come with us because it is to dangerous."
