Arthur stares at her arm for a moment, his own hand tracing the inside of his arm for a moment, before looking away.
" Right well then let's get you fixe up." He said, grabbing Kat's hand and pulling her Ito the bathroom. He closed the door and yanked up her sleeves, pulling up his own so he wouldn't get his shirt dirty, revealing a numerous scars, none done by him though, most recent from his fight with Shaun.

"How'd you get your scars?" Kat asted instinctivly. She looked down at her own then at his, her's her all about the same length and repeating. But his were all over, battle scars. IT was hard to imagine that Mr.Kirland, her history professor, got into fights. He had a family right? Why would he be fighting?

Arthur sighed, frowning down at his ruined skin.
"Fights, protection..Depression." He said quietly. "Mainly fights with friends and family. I have had quite a past, believe it or not."

Kat crooked an eyebrow “Depression?” She asked.

"A few years ago I had an incident with my neighbor, and well...aftershave I wasn't quite right." He admitted with a shrug, almost shyly.

"Your life makes mine sound like..." she laughed once, slightly embarrased "Your life makes mine sound easy..." She said "I-I used to cut myself...When life just got to be too much, I wanted to know that...That there was a way out...But cutting wasn't getting me any where...So I stopped after I bought my gun...I never use it...But just knowing it's there...Knowing there's a way out for me...It makes it better..." She said, her stare traveling from the walls, to the lamp, anywhere but directly at him.
"I...Started cutting when my parents died...It was just all too much...I couldn't take it..." She finally pulled her gaze to Arthur "But now that I have my gun...Just in case I need to...To...Get out of life...It makes me feel better..." Kat said sheepishly.

Arthur looked up abruptly.
"No, Kat you haven't seen hard..you haven't had the person you love more than anythin try ad jump off a bridge, you haven't had a cigar burned into your skin, you haven't had the person who thought you loved...try and kill you." He said sternly, his hands it tight fists.

Kat looked at his, a small, painfull smile on her lips.
"You didn't see the life drian from your parents eyes...You never had to be a ********* to make end meet...You never had to feel like your drowning under work, only to go to the next job, then school...You never had to deal with foster parents who try to replace your old ones...You never had to deal with the fear of being given back, or put back in the system when you just got out of it...I get it Arthur, your life is hard, but don't think for a moment that mine is any less..." Kat flipped a glance to the over head clock, she'd be expected back at Reggie's.
"Speaking of a job, I need to get back to mine. I'll see you tommarow at school." She said, before turning and walking out the door. When Kat got to the company car the looked down and frowned, why had she told him all that?

"You weren't r**ed.." Arthur muttered as she was leaving. He sighed when Kat was gone, and gazed again at his scars on his arms, and hands, thinking of all the ways he'd gotten them. Tears pricked his brilliant green eyes, and Arthur wiped them away, running a hand through his hair.

Kat wanted to just scream, but she didn’t. She balled her fists and got in the car. Kat sneaked a glance at the house, and felt the heart ache settle in. She didn’t want to go back to work, she didn’t want this life. Kat struck the keys in the lock, the engine roared to life. But Kat didn’t leave just yet, she started at the wheel, lost in thoughts and listening to the hum of the engine.

Alfred watched Kat leave in confusion, and scurried after her.
"Kat! Wait up!" He called, sticking his head through the open window of her car door. "Why can't..can't you stay?" He asked.

Arthur sank down to a sitting position, leaning against the bathroom wall. He burried his face in his knees and just sat there.

Kat killed the engine and looked at Alfred, desperately wanting to stay. She fishes around in her pocket and pulled out a phone then texted Reggie. She told him that she’d return the car later tonight and wouldn’t be back in until tomorrow. He sent back that this was okay; they had 6 other company cars anyways. Kat smiled a little then looked at Alfred again “I guess, my boss said it was okay…” She said, getting out of the car and looking up at him.

Riley sat outside the bathroom; she knew Arthur was inside, having one of his moments. These moments of pure and utter defeat, these moments where he clipped himself from everyone else. Riley sat outside, leaning against the wall.
“Iggy…Do you wanna talk?” She asked softly, wanting so badly for him to just be happy again.

Alfred grinned excitedly, practically dragging her out of the car. "Common, Iggy's probably locked himself in his bathroom again, lookin' at his back, so we can go in my room!" He said, referring to the scars on Arthur's back.

Arthur made no attempt to reply, he simply slumped partially behind the sink.

Kat nodded “Okay then…” She said fallowing him half-heartedly.

Riley sighed and looked at her shoes. She didn’t know why Arthur was being so upset all of the sudden; he had a loving wife, and beautiful kid, and his best friend. What more could he want? If you’d ask Riley, though she’d never admit this, he needed to move on with his life. Yeah, his past sucked, but he needed to focus on what he had, what was right in front of him.

Alfred tugged her inside, smiling shyly at Riley, who stood outside the bathroom door. He sighed, closing his door as he entered the guest room.
"Sorry 'f he said 'nything to ya' that was mean, Artie's moody some days." Alfred said with an exhaggerated sigh.

Arthur looked at his hands for the longest time, before coming out. He wouldn't make eye contact with Riley, though, he just stood there, looking at his scarred hands.
