The bar was instantly silent, every dog looking at Ricky. Zak held up his paw, telling the barkeeper to hold off. Zero left what was left of his pepsi and went over to Ricky. "What's up Ricky?"

"You and Zak with me now!" he demanded.

Zak got off his chair and also went over to Ricky. Zero looked curious.

"Somebody want to tell you something" Ricky said dragging the two out of the bar.

As soon as they were dragged out, the bar noise started again.

Ricky dragged the two around the corner to Charlie who was awaiting there.

Charlie sighed, "Guys, I understand why you want to leave. Quite frankly I don't blame you. If somebody treated me that way I would leave too. I am just trying to say I am sorry and the decision is up to you if you want to stay or if you want to go. I am not holding you back."

Zak and Zero looked at each other a moment then looked back at Charlie. Zero shrugged. "I'll come, if you really need me."

"It's up to you not me."

He's apologizing anyway... Not like I was the one who said I wasn't needed in the group. Zero thought. "I'll come..." He said. "But can we stay here for the night? It's getting dark."

Charlie cracked a smile, "Drinks on me."

"Already paid for one of mine and Zero's Charlie." Zak said, licking some beer off his lips. "Ah well, better late then never."

"A round for everyone" Charlie ordered sitting at a table.

Zero and Zak joined Charlie. Zak was happy at the prospect of more to drink.

The bar tender arrived and set down the drinks in front of all of them. Charlie gave the bar tender a wink and took a sip of his beer.

Zak took a huge gulp of his beer, wagging his tail.
