I start my rant. This is on adult Aleu from the start of the film to the end.
Aleu was childish in the first place, playing like a kid, and then running towards the hunter, thinking he was friendly. He was obviously a hunter, and she didn't even open her eyes when the gun was loaded and pointed at her. She didn't know Balto saved her life, she told him off for rescuing her! Then she was all mad because the hunter thought she was a "wild animal" - well hey, huskies are BRED FROM wolves, they get shot at too.
The next part in the boat is RIDICULOUS. She is totally disrespectful here. Aleu whines and complains about her wolf side like she's dirty or something - there is absolutely NOTHING worth whining about, since wolves are generally faster and more instinctive than dogs. Yet she whined like she was a low, filthy creature. Then she blamed it all on Balto, without considering how he felt about it - he was more wolf than Aleu! And it was something she couldn't help! And then she ran away about it since she was mad. Without a thought of what it would take to run away - she would need to hunt for herself, find water, a good sleeping spot, identify friend from foe and even then she would still need to find an acceptable wolf clan quickly if she couldn't, or she would likely die. She also had NO idea where she was going - good luck, sir.
The next part is about Muru and the spirit cave. Firstly, Aleu chose a cave to sleep in. Since it was autumn, I'm not too sure that was a smart idea. But anyways. She growled at an innocent mouse for no real reason at all, trying to be tough, and then went 'ok lol so who am i' and did this retarded sad face. What was he supposed to say to someone who was so blatantly ignorant? I think Muru did a fairly good idea trying to explain to Aleu about things, but Aleu just didn't get it, pestering Muru to explain further every time. Now for the bear. To think that bears would not be found in a cave is silly, but I question why that bear was there anyway since it wasn't hibernation, but that's beside the point. She ran out of the cave but didn't look over the cliff and jump, which was stupid. Then she backed up to the edge, not even trying to fight the bear. So her daddy comes along and acts the hero and fights the bear. Then she blindly goes for the bear's arm. Thinking process is missing in Aleu - I'm positive had the bear clutched onto Aleu she would of been crushed. She could also have been killed by that impact on the ground after being chucked aside, and the main reasons are this: the impact could have killed her instantly, sent her into a coma which she would never recover from, or she could have broken her back, therefore suffered nerve damage and not have been able to walk, therefore rendered uselesss and been made easy pickings for food. She could have also suffered severe brain damage. Enough of that, those are only some of the reasons. Then she nearly falls off a cliff, and Balto saves her. Then the next thing you know, she pushes him off the cliff! Yeah, yeah, I know, 'but she had Inner Knowing!!' but what if she was wrong? She would have just killed Balto with no thought about it. Then she jumps off WITHOUT LOOKING. That ledge would have easily been seen had one peered over the edge.
The next bit is hazy, but I do remember "I know what I am but not who I am". ...what? That makes no sense at all. Before she confronts Muru with "I know who I am! I am Aleu, daughter of Balto and Jenna, who just happens to be a pure-bred husky! Who are YOU?! *growl*". Wow, sudden change of opinions, but you know who you are, you're Aleu, it's just you don't know *what* you are since you think you're a filthy deranged beast when you are not, you're one quarter wolf and three quarters husky.
Now for the fight bit. Aleu tried to correct that mangy wolf's (Sumac?) grammar, just to look tough and smart compared to them, when in fact it's extremely immature. Yet she challenged them like they were weak, when the only thing she tried to do was tackle them. That's now how wolves fight at all! If she had fought with a real wolf she would of been killed easy. Now, we know the mangy wolf is obviously mangy and can't fight well, so why did he nearly drown Aleu? Because Aleu is bad at fighting, all those who say she can, I've already given you three examples, the bear arm tackle, tackling the wolves and she nearly drowned due to WEAK WOLF. And her daddy saved her. AGAIN.
The next part is the meeting. She challenges Niju freely, growling at him. Niju could easily beat the crap out of her. Sorry for the language, but it's true. If she nearly drowned to the weak mangy wolf a much bigger wolf, even if he was a bit slower, could of easily killed her. Yet she still challenged him when Niju was simply speaking his mind. Then assumes that Niju is scared to cross the 'great water'. The great water thing is starting to sound taken from LBT, no? Next to the tree scene. "Can you teach me?" Uhh, girly, does it LOOK like someone can teach you how to merge with a tree? No, didn't think so. The argument scene... Balto was right to want to go back, I think. Aleu had been careless and was going to get them killed. Then she says she's seen caribou, and that it's greater than just them, but now it's about the clan. Well, the clan could easily just choose the beta male wherever he is and make him alpha, but does that happen? No, they drag out Balto and Aleu through Aniu. She thinks about the wolves' side of the story, not Balto's, again.
So she walks up to Nava the next morning, asking Nava if Niju is scared. How would he know? Niju obviously wouldn't go about telling everyone that he was scared of change, yet she still asks. Thought process missing here.
The last scene, the ice bridge. Many problems here. I'm not sure why she wanted to save Nava, as I don't think he wanted rescuing, since he was old. Then the ice starts drifting back yet Aleu still tries to climb the ice island. It's clear she should swim to the other side now, yet she doesn't think of that, she tries to climb up. So just when she's going to be crushed, she dives. There's a bug here - she's swimming through a cave-ish area in the ice island, but the ice doesn't go that deep. Anyways, the time that this took, she should have drowned. Trying to squeeze through that gap, she would have had to lose a lot of weight very quickly to fit through there, so she should have drowned anyways. She makes it to the surface, and by now should be suffering from pneumonia to some degree. She isn't. What? She doesn't have enough fur to keep THAT warm! So anyway, is pulled up by Nava, Balto swims off with the wolves, not saying goodbye or anything about Jenna or his other sons and daughters (AFAIR), fight starts with Nava. Aleu... didn't seem to really try and protect Nava. She just watched as Niju tackled him, fully knowing Nava was weak. Then she finally steps in, and Nava tries to save her, but is pushed aside. Then Niju seems to try and mate with Aleu, and she makes no struggle, only a tiny attempt to crawl forward, which is obviously not going to work. Then her daddy has to save her. She makes NO REAL ATTEMPT to fight Niju off. Not because she knew he was a wolf and potentially stronger, as she tried to fight a bear, just made no real attempt at all. And then she decided to join the wolf pack, "but I do belong here". Oh wow, genius assumption, took you a while. So she just swims off, telling her father to tell her mother she left. What? What happened there?
And then she appears to become the leader of the pack. She would make a TERRIBLE leader, for reasons I've already pointed out. She's childish, tries to correct people's grammar (which is a BIG problem since she corrected Boris, who has a Russian accent, what's gonna happen now that she's supposedly off to Russia?), growls at innocent mice when they didn't even try to offend her, makes no sense, challenges those that are stronger than her with NO THOUGHT to what could happen, doesn't thank Balto or Nava for saving her, had a go at Balto because he made her quarter wolf (what about HIS feelings?), has no idea how a wolf pack works, assumes things ('omg!! liek niju must be scarred lolz), doesn't even say goodbye to her MOTHER, and made no struggle against a wolf she could of beaten (Niju was tiring, you have to admit, she could of beat him then) EVEN THOUGH he was trying to... uhh yea. Besides, Aleu is only one year old. She hasn't even matured yet, but she's the leader of a wolf pack? What the heck?
Overall she is an immoral, whiney, annoying, non-thinking immature Kiara-clone of a character. Anybody who likes her... well, now you can see why some of us don't. I'll let the eye coloe and fur color slip, but she's also very improperly proportioned, with a curvy neck, odd shaped head, weird cheek fur formation, strange fur tuft, slanty eyes (a bit Asian really, no offense), skinny legs and huge over sized paws. Ugh.
