OCC:// Acrylic; Where do you find those lovely images of the wolves? Besides Bing and Google, they're a real good quality.


Aurora finished off Aria before re-crossing the river. She dove in waiting for the others to follow. Are they coming, or are they just going to stay and stand there? Aurora thought to herself as she resurfaced on land where the den rested. She shook herself to almost a complete fry, long silky coat.

Ghost's nose was pointed at the ground. She was on the trail of the family of mice that scurried out of her way a few minutes earlier. Her stomach growled louder and the wolf whined to herself a little. She kept pushing forward, but a sudden rustling noise caught her attention and the caretaker's heard shot up. Eyes wide, nose twitching, ears erect and searching for the location of the noise, Ghost knew better than to brush it off as some birds or a rabbit; the sound was too loud to be either of those. There was a wolf or a lynx nearby and Ghost defiantly did not want to run into one of those. She knew she'd be dead in minutes.
The white wolf instantly twirled around on her toes and raced back toward the Crystal Mountain's territory. There had been another rustle that set her on edge and Ghost could hear whatever it was -wolf, lynx- running a good two and a half meters to her left, each step was in sync with her own. The faster she ran, the faster her enemy did as well. "Help! Help me!" Ghost screeched in an out of breath bark.

Starlight was not about to let up on this kill. She knew this wolf had smelt her scent around the area, Star's makeshift territory. The silver-grey wolf could see it in the white one's eyes as she crouched down low in the underbrush more than ten feet away from the intruder. At first, the lone wolf had contemplated; 'Should I let her go or not? Eh, she'll notice my scent and go back home...no she won't. That was when she crept towed the other wolf and caused the leaves around her to move, alerting the other.
When she saw the white wolf about to run, Starlight jumped on the chance to make sure she wasn't going back to get her friends; they'd kill Starlight in an instant, she knew. The grey wolf gave chase and picked up her speed to match the other's so she'd be able to pounce on her. Star moved in closer and closer and ready herself to lunge at the intruder when she cried for help. "Help's not coming!" Star snarled and jumped, her forepaws smashing into the wolf's ribs.

Christy had heard some cries for help.They sounded like Ghost's cries.Christy ran towards Ghost's scent and finally reached her."Ghos-"Christy was suddenly cut off by the sight of a different wolf on Ghost."Get off her!*****!"Christy shouted as she leaped and pinned the other wolf growling viciously."WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE AND WHO ARE YOU?!"Christy shouted still growling.

Starlight's eyes flashed to Christy in an instant, but quickly went back to the struggling wolf under her. The female's pale orbs widened suddenly, realizing that she was about to get attack, and her chest was greeted by a set of heavy paws forcing her to the ground. The lone wolf skidded in some leaves for second before she heard the half growl, half question that came out of the other wolf's mouth.
"I have the right to be in my own territory!" Star snarled and struggled to get from under the wolf's paws. When she did, Starlight hopped to her feet, hackles risen and faced the other wolf who showed many signs of dominance that she recognized instantly. 'You're an Alpha," Star said quietly to herself than scoffed, "You, of all wolves, should know that this little area between your pack and the other ones out there belongs to no wolf. I just marked off a little section for my own hunting. This wolf," she quickly pointed her snot down at a cowering Ghost, "Was in my land. I had the right to pursue her, did I not?"

Another wolf, who saw the three others, spoke as he leaped onto a rock. "Yes," he spoke loudly to be recognized. "You had the right pursue her." he wolf sat as his fur blew in the light breeze that ran across the land. "I'm Bear." he showed no emotion.. He snarled at Christy. "As for you," he bared his teeth. "Had no right to just attack...." he paused not knowing the female's name.." Grey wolf over here."

Her focus faltered for a split second, and Starlight looked up to the owner of the voice. There was another wolf, a male, who she believed to be part of the Alpha's pack. Star was about to growl, but stopped herself when the newcomer continued to talk. "You had the right to pursue her."
Starlight looked back at the white wolf standing in front of her with an expression that clearly red, 'I told you so.' She stood proudly as a light breeze of wind blew through her silvery fur. "It's Starlight, Bear," she said calmly but never took her eyes off of her attacker.

Just then, Subaaru showed up.

"Ghost, are you okay?!" Subaaru asked, worriedly. "I heard you shouting for help!"

"I-I'm fine. I'm fine..."
Ghost slowly rolled over onto her stomach and inched backward until she reached Subaaru's legs. She glanced up quickly and looked back at the two wolves across from her and her pack mates. "I thought I-I told you to," she inhaled a shaky breath and tried to steady herself. "To stay in b-bed..."


"Well, looks like we've got this sorted out,: Starlight said then in a firmer tone, added on, "I suggest that you take your precious pack members and leave my territory, Alpha." Her pale orbs stared right into Christy's as the lone wolf hoped to intimidate her more dominate counterpart.

"Well, Ghost-san, you've taken good care of me while I was injured," Subaaru answered, standing over Ghost protectively. "so it's about time I returned the favor."

And with that, Bear left. As everyone went back to the pack after hunting, the pack took to the night.


The next morning, it was Tanana's day to prove he could be alpha. As Hunter, clearly, couldn't. "Mom," he began. "I think I'm ready for this." he stood proudly at the edge of the den, looking over the large group.

"Tanana.Nobody is taking my place until my newborn pups are older."Christy licked the eight newly born pups foreheads."And I haven't even gave names to your four brothers and sisters Tanana.Right now that I'm nursing you will take some orders.Tell the hunters and the others except the omegas to hunt."

Tanana rolled his eyes. "Mom, when you adopted us, you said Hunter would be the new alpha. Then you said Sadie would be the new alpha. Its obvious neither one of them can do it. A few months ago you said I would be the new alpha. What now, you're going to rely on you knew pups?" Before Tanana could turn around, Shasta cam up and looked at his mate, and new pups. "Watch it, Tanana. " he growled a bit.

Ghost had returned to the pack along with everyone else. She stayed in her den the entire day, completely neglecting her job as Caretaker. She tucked her pointed muzzle into the fur of her tail and sighed heavily.
The poor wolf was still very shaken up by the incident with that wolf, Starlight, the day before; Ghost was sure she was about to die. 'I should thank Subaaru for what he did yesterday,' she reminded herself. 'A-after I clam down some more that is.'

"Ghost? Ghost, you need to come out of there now." Phoenix stood stiff legged outside of the Caretaker wolf's den. He whined again and scratched at the dirt patch at the entrance of Ghost's den. "I know you hear me, my friend," the rusty-colored wolf barked and plopped down in sphinx-style and stared intensely at the white wolf curled up, facing away from him.

Kamui and Subaaru were out hunting with the rest of the pack, as were Tanana's orders, talking while running at the same time.

"Kamui," Subaaru called to his brother, who was running beside him. "Do you know where Ghost-san is? I haven't seen her all day..."

"Ghost-san has been in the den all day." Kamui answered. "She hasn't left the den at all today for some reason."

"What's wrong with her? Is she sick?" Subaaru asked.

"I don't know for sure, Subaaru." Kamui answered. "I don't think so, though. It's just my guess, but personally I believe that it might have something to do with the attack yesterday."

Subaaru pondered that for a moment, thinking that may be the reason as well. But then he pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind, as the pack had come across a fairly sized herd of elk. Kamui and Subaaru then pounced on and ganged up on one of the largest elk there, bringing it down to its knees, as the other wolves took on several other elk.

Tanana rolled his eyes. "Mom, when you adopted us, you said Hunter would be the new alpha. Then you said Sadie would be the new alpha. Its obvious neither one of them can do it.
