I think Kodi and Dusty would be great together. I see why most people come to the Ralph/Dusty conclusion, but as all know; Everything can change

Regardless of whether Kodi and Dusty are together, I think they should be. If Kodi's as uptight as people say he is (which I don't necessarily agree with), he needs someone like Dusty to teach him to lighten up. As for Ralph, I think he's too slack to be a good match for Dusty or anyone else. I find it all to easy to see a girl telling him, "I wanted to be your girlfriend, not your babysitter." Truth be told, he embodies some traits I've resolved to rid myself of before I go looking for Ms. Right, so I really can't see him having Dusty or anyone else the way he is in the third movie.

Erm...dogs don't marry. Not even cartoon ones (unless they are some sort of strange "people in dog suits" kind of oddities).

Technically cartoon ones have been known to get married (as unpopular as they may be, All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 and All Dogs go to Heaven: The Series make that evident enough). Never the less, I think it is safe to say that marriage with application to dogs could be regarded as a metaphor for the kind of monogamous bond which, while not practiced by most real animals, is evidenced often in cartoon ones (such as The Lion King). Which, I think, is what Walking Disaster meant.

Besides, even National Geographic has used terms concerning animals which, with regard to humans, speak of marriage, so it's hardly incongruous to use similar terms with regard to animated animals (which are in a sense human on the inside) in casual conversation.

But a serious and studious magazine like National Geographic would not write about doggies getting married. Come on, DT. Marriage is a human concept and practice.

As to ADGTH, I never was a fan of that property, so I cannot speak to the characters and what happened there. However, there IS a derth of cartoons and cartoon movies which show animal characters engaged in some sort of marriage ceremony. You cannot deny that.

Fair enough. But then, Balto 3 (of all the Balto movies) was far from serious and studious. And it's true, one seldom sees cartoon animals engaged in a marriage ceremony. But then again, what simpler way to describe that a pair are monogamously paired and committed to one another for life, a la the depiction of Balto and Jenna's relationship? Besides. dogs aren't known for practicing shamanism, and geese are not known for hanging out with polar bears. So we're not dealing with conventional animals.

Besides, I think we're kind of missing the point. The question of this topic is whether it would be good for Kodi and Dusty to have pups, not how one chooses to phrase the matter.

iive beenfollowing ths and decided look up what the definition of marrig is:

mar·riage (mrj)
n.
1.
a. The legal union of a man and woman as husband and wife, and in some jurisdictions, between two persons of the same sex, usually entailing legal obligations of each person to the other.
b. A similar union of more than two people; a polygamous marriage.
c. A union between persons that is recognized by custom or religious tradition as a marriage.
d. A common-law marriage.
e. The state or relationship of two adults who are married: Their marriage has been a happy one.
2. A wedding.
3. A close union: "the most successful marriage of beauty and blood in mainstream comics" (Lloyd Rose).
4. Games The combination of the king and queen of the same suit, as in pinochle.

from the Free online Dictionary: http://www.thefreedictionary.com

So your both right really.
And some dog owners do marry their dogs

But it is usually thought of as a legal union of two humans generally with some kind of ceremony.

a) I did not say he was wrong, but he was referring to fictional characters.

b) the definition you provided does not speak about non-humans marrying, which would be ridiculous in the extreme, as no non-sentient creature could comprehend the concept (and let's not pretend that dogs and cats and other pets, let alone wild animals, are sentient in the sense that they could comprehend human cultural and societal practices).

c) I would love to see some documentable evidence that people marry their dogs. " ", and whether or not said documentation comes from one of those "Oddest Behaviors" kind of shows on cable. ROFL
